Kill Bill Vol.2 Fake Rolex

Uma Thurman was wearing a fake rolex daytona when shooting the film.

Take a look here : http://www.wristwatchreview.com/2006...-fake-daytona/

Funny you should bring that up Velitsko. I have the Kill Bill movies on DVD and watched them last week I can't believe tarantino used a fake.

It's really a Day-Tona

Movies almost always use fakes just because props have a high probability of being lost/damaged/etc.

That's where I saw it. It's near the end when she is timing her home pregnancy test.

Day-Date Daytona

My brother in law brought a fake Navitimer back from china. Almost all fake chronos have that type of dial. The pushers just adjust the day and date.

What garbage.

Well, seeing as how Uma endorses TAG Heuer, that's no big surprise, is it?

Im sure most movies and tv shows use fake or look-alikes. On the Sopranos i would say most of the men wear Rolex look-alikes, eh?

Does Miyota do a chrono? I don't think so.

What's in the Ivicta Speedway? Is it quartz?

Will a fake Rolex show a false pregnancy?

Ok you are all much better at this than I am. How could you tell. What were the telltale signs of it being fake?

If you check out the picture again, you'll notice date functions on the sub-dials......Daytonas do not have any date functions....not even a tiny date window.

Think the idea (I read this somewhere!) was to keep the overall B-Movie tackiness alive and that's why they did it. Would have been fairly easy to get a real one and I'm fairly sure it was a conscious decision to feature a close-up of a fake one!

Reaching way back to revive this thread.

Kill Bill Vol 2 was on tv and something look weird about the Daytona that Uma Thurman uses. I was glad to see that a quick Google search showed that TRF was on top if it and had the answer.

Now that would have been a shocker since that Sub belonged to Cubby Broccoli, the producer of Dr. No.

A Chinese knock-off in a tongue-in-cheek martial arts-type flick seem appropriate...

I'll bet the Samurai swords aren't quite the rare and wonderful pieces they're touted as being in the films. Just more props, but no props to them for using fakes.
