Subs

So these guys are really starting to grow on me. I wasn't a fan at first but some pics I have seen recently are SWEET! The 243 is calling my name and I've never even seen it in the metal.

Oh so sexy....

I hear ya Bryan. For the longest time "Sub" meant Rolex to me (and it's still a favored reference), but since getting my 24 I've really come to appreciate the Submersible line.

It's a watch that has so much presence and of course Panerai luminosity (important to me) is amazing. I'm not sure the bezel is as smooth as the Rolex, at least on mine the timekeeping has been amazing. I've worn the watch steadly for a week and it's been 2 seconds fast during that time.

Thanks, Mike! What are your thoughts on the 243 vs. the 24? How does each wear? I assume you've probably tried both on.

I haven't Bryan. But, if it were a choice the 243 would win for me.

I saw the thread title and I said to myself, "What's a rollie thread doing here?"
I think sub = Rolex, submersible = PAM.

That 24 is a great looking watch
What's the difference between the 24 and 243?

The 243 has a 1950 case and the crystal is quite a bit thicker.

The 24 is very reliable, and new is about at least $2000 cheaper than 243.

I have the 285 and it is a great PAM. I too did not like the PAM Subs at first - but, they really are great to wear. I would go 243...

I do TR. I've become quite smitten by Panerai. The looks, history, and presence bring a lot to the table.
