I think it's pretty funny actually.

I mean come-on people we are a Rolex forum - it is a little sad. The photo's they've pulled up aren't very flattering and do reinforce the Rolex stereotype.

Having said all that I feel we should start a forum war (in the best possible taste) and dig out photos of people posing with their expensive Les Pauls!

Been playing, recording, and writing music for almost 30 years. There are enough musicians and Rolex owners who lower the bar for everybody.

My wife constantly makes fun of me for my obsession with watches. I'll show her a new NATO, or a faded bezel, or a great macro shot...and she looks at me like a lunatic.

It's all in good fun...but there are many people that can't understand the point of wearing a $5000 watch (let alone multiple watches) and then posting pictures of yourself wearing them.

Whatever. To each his own.

Spot-on...

I'll explain to my wife, "...look babe, this is a masterbuilt Fender Strat - TODD KRAUSE, Clapton's own guitar builder - built it, FOR ME..."

I just get blank stares.

I don't think I've ever seen the word "douche" so many times in one thread. Reading some of the posts and the vulgar language on that site makes me wonder what you'd have to post to get banned.

I agree.

I also noticed that most of the comments were made by people with an excess of 15,000 posts. When do they have time to play music if they are constantly posting on that forum?

You know by that post being brought here it made his insult come Full-circle .
Not only did he get want he wanted but he is also bringing some of us down to his level .

So let's just let this post die-off .
And let's go back to talking about our love for watches.

No one has commented on his avatar photo, his sense of style in head wear.

Hasn't he seen this?

Eric Clapton defines "douche bag", IMO. And the guitar forum thread is pretty funny.

Anyway.

LOL!!! It was kinda funny.

I've been to a lot of watch GTG's (lots of pics seem to be from them) and when you take it out of context, it is pretty hard for "normal" people to understand why people meet up just because you own the same brand of watch; let alone some folks that are probably 180 degrees different then those here.

Of course we know the answer, but.....

Heck you could change the watches to Panerai, and have the EXACT same pics ...I should know I was one for a while, but don't think I ever got caught in a pic with my face in it. If you're not a WIS, you'll never get it.

It's all good. Forums are great. It's were I do all me research before I buy anything I care about...and there's a forum for EVERYTHING!!!

I know I'm an FNG here, but I love all you douche bags and glad to be one

Ji

Agreed. The post is definitely tasteless and the OP has some serious issues. But all in all its ok. We can laugh at ourselves right! And like its been mentioned before only WIS will understand our passion for horology.

I think some of the posters are just too immature to understand different people have different passions. Us watches and them guitars. While I am not a prude, I am glad the language used on that forum is not used hear.
