First Thread / New Addition
This is my first time starting a thread, but this is also the first watch I've bought since joining the forum and it seems to be tradition to post pictures.
I don't know how to make the picture smaller so my apologies. It also happens to be my first Daytona so if people have tips I'd appreciate any advice people have. I don't leave the chronograph running, although it seems some people want to feel like there is a "traditional" second hand. |

Wow! Never seen a Daytona with diamond markers before. It's stunning.

Congrats. I do not use the chronograph function on my Daytona unless I’m timing something. I’m sure it doesn’t really hurt anything but why when the small seconds is more than adequate for telling time.

Congrats!!
My Daytona is a twin to yours!! It doesn't seem that this version with the diamond hour markers are all that common. A few things for you to note: The gold is going to scratch VERY easily - just live with it. I don't run the chrono all the time. I think it's unnecessary wear on the parts, but I do try to exercise it from time to time. Always be aware of whether your pushers and crown are screwed down well enough. Have fun and make a lot of great memories with it!! PDG |

Beautiful watch, congrats! I hope you love wearing it. I think the Daytona wears very well on a 7.5” wrist. Please post some wrist shots.

I thought the title was “new addiction” …
Actually, be careful or I might be proven correct and you just spelled it wrong out of a Freudian slip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks to everyone for responding. It's great to be a part of, and share with, a group of people who know and understand that feeling when you finally get a watch you really want, or even just add a nice piece to your collection. That specific Daytona was a watch I'd been wanting for a long time. I had he chance to buy other Daytonas but figured if I was going to get a Daytona, I'd wait for the one I really wanted.
Like somebody said above, if I had misspelled it as "addiction', that would be entirely accurate. I've had my eye on a particular Rolex I want to add to my collection for awhile that I'd been considering buying, but the Daytona came up and it was one I really coveted and would have bought that one no matter what if I ever had the chance to buy one. Now, back to having an eye on the other one..... |
