Typical AP Discount?

When you guys purchased your AP, what was your discount? I was at a non-AD that sells a collection of nice watches from AP, PP, VC etc and they offered me 35% off on a BNIB ROC rose gold on band. It came with boxes and papers, but made me question the authenticity with such a steep discount. Especially since they had to order it, so it wasn't dead stock that they were trying to move.

Thanks for your time.

I've done much worse Got 25% off on a BNIB RO 15300ST black dial from a grey dealer last summer. Amazing watch!

On a brand new rose gold AP there should be at least 30% off IMHO.

Between 15-25% off on the Steel models and 20-35% off on the solid gold model.

All discounts are depending what AD, stock, how the numbers are looking on that brand, and if you are a valued client.

That's a very good deal......are we missing some details from the story?

Typical I have seen is 25% for a customer with a good AD contact.

I went to Hong Kong two weeks ago. Both AD won't offer anything more than 5% for the 15300 Black dialed rose gold. Fortunately, I didn't let my heart rule my head! Sounds like a trusted grey dealer is a better bet for AP watches!

Hi Guys,

Any idea what the current discount for a 2011 44MM Offshore would be.
I can get a Panda for a 33% discount, so would I be right to presume that the 44MMs should also retail at such a discount in the near future.... They not being Limited Editions.

I really wanna get myself the 44MM SS, but think its a lil out of my budget just now.

Thanks,
Abner

How's MSRP typically priced in Israel?

% off from AD can be subjective as MSRP in parts of the world is affected by the Forex and crappy USD...

Guys,

What would you consider the max discount one could get on a 41mm all rose gold royal oak chrono on gold bracelet?

I found one at 28% and think there is more room to squeeze, but I don't want to overplay my hand.

Also what is a good price on an extra link fr the bracelet?

What is good price for a leather strap with the RG deployment buckle?

I am thinking on to pull the trigger on the all RG, but having the option to put it on a leather strap when I want to tone it down at times.

Thanks

30% from AD-stamped grey market dealer on 44mm ROO.

It sounds like it would be possible to ask for more. 37.5% makes any RO a screaming value.

30% off is a good benchmark, any discount at 30% and over is very good. 25%-29% is good. This is of course excluding LEs.

You should also factor in tax. For example, you can immediately take 20% off RRP of a watch in the UK and most of Europe if you ship it outside; in that scenario, a 10% discount is giving you 30% in total off. You can easily do more on standard models.

I'm in Dubai for a few weeks and want to buy a new watch. I wouldn't imagine much discount here. Anyone with experience buying watches here?

Usually 20-25% for the stainless steel ones, & 30%+ for the gold/ rose golds' for APs
Some US ADs will tax you after they gave you discount if you pay by cards, & no tax if you pay by checks/ cash!! For the rolexs, i usually get 10% +/- discounts on the stainless steel models, but in LA, the tax is like 10%, so at the end of the day, if i really wants the watch then i will have to pay the retail price for it, just minus the tax! not too worth it, unless it is the something that i really like/ or hard to find models, or else i will wait for my next business trip, & make a watch shopping in europe/ asia

In some countries in Europe, & Asia, i believe the discounts are bigger than US, & you can get your tax money back at the airports when you bring the goods back home, or pay them & have them to ship it, plus ppl take advantage on the currency!! so i guess thats part of the reasons why the grey market is doing so good in US, & they can give away discount with 37.5% off.

well.. but i think typically anywhere from 20-25% for steel, & 30%+/- gold models sound normal at the US ADs

That's why I think AP is cutting down the number of ADs and building up their boutique business.

Can't forget to factor in how desirable a piece will be.

For example 30% off a gold RO may be possible, but try finding that on the 44mm RG with ceramic bezel...

Thinking of a RG RO or ROO -

What are your thoughts on a discount for

1) RO RG chrono (black face, leather strap)
2) ROO RG Novelty

Anyone know what the typical AD discount is in the UK, for a RO or ROC? Where I live (in the UAE), the AD said there is no discount at all.
