SLGH005 White Birch or SBGM221 GMT?

Just discovered that I’m able to get a 25% discount at a certain store that sells GS. I’ve always loved the SBGM221 and wanted to add it to my collection, but they have the White Birch in stock as well!

I’m so torn between the two and it’s a big difference in price. Any suggestions?

Tried the White Birch on for the first time and I’m in love. It fits my wrist so well and in the different light it just shines like nothing else.

SLGH005 hands down if you're getting 25% off. The build quality and 9SA5 movement put this in another league over the SBGM221.

I already have a GMT in my very small collection, Rolex Root Beer, so another “reason” to go for the birch

Might be a new incoming tomorrow afternoon!

I'm burned out on the birch hype already and the more I see the watch, the less I like it. Never give up your two two one.

Birch, I don’t like the 24 hour hand on the 221.

Change that. I tried on birch and did not like the dial. Go with Seasons or anniversary blue.

What didn't you like about it? I've still yet to see this in person and was considering getting on down the line.

Was just to silver to me. Looked at it a Miami gs boutique. Fell in love with seasons though.

Never seen blizzard in person but worry would be also to silver for me.

Hodinkee blue gmt was nice but just ok for me.

My experience is that you may get some GS models with 25% off but not for every GS model。It might be challenging to get this 25% off for SLGH003 or SLGH005. If you do get 25% off for those two models, to me, it is no brainer to go for it.

Modern or vintage, bracelet or strap, silver or ecru.... they make a great pair. Why choose? ;-)

Being a big GS fan I frankly must say that I do not understand what people see interesting in 221.

If you can really get 25% off any GS, wait for the SLGA007 LE.

Def 25% discount, but the store only has 12 models in stock, small display.

Decided to leave it for the moment, mostly due to avoiding the Wife killing me. Not for the cost but the discount will use up all her allowance!

It is a gorgeous looking watch, and I saw some pictures of someone that put a leather strap on it, looks even better

I recently purchased an SBGA415 and made the mistake of visiting the Nature of Time Grand Seiko pop-up/boutique in NYC.

I tried on the SLGH003 and SLGH005 (White Birch) and I think my next watch will be the White Birch. The case design is incredible and wears extremely well on my wrist. The movement looks stunning, and the dial is quite special.

If I could get 25% off that watch, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Heck, I'll likely buy it even without that discount in a few months.
