Agreed. A nice fit. Smaller watches seem to photo better as well.

In my opinion you can wear almost any watch, within reason, with dress attire. Very seldom has anyone every commented on my watch or even noticed what I was wearing.

In all likelihood only one person will care about the watch being worn; that is the wearer. Wear what you like.

It's 2017...the majority of people I see in suits these days are not wearing a traditional "dress" watch. Wear what you want

Agreed. Conversely, I have seen people in jeans and tshirt wearing an ALS or PP on straps, which also looked great. Those stuffy old school rules are ridiculous. For those who say a sub is appropriate but a polar is not, I really do not know what you are basing this on. This is only more "acceptable" because of Bond movies breaking what was convention at the time in the 1960s. In no way is an all-brushed black face diver more appropriate than a white faced all brushed GMT.

Neither would traditionally have been acceptable in a formal setting. Then again, there was a time that a lounge suit from which modern day business suits evolved was considered informal. We have all moved on from that point...

LAME. My Sub looks stellar with whatever suit I'm wearing. Stick that in your juice box and suck it.

39mm Explorer is my go to suit watch....if wearing black tie I put a leather strap on it...maybe. 100% right? Probably not...but I get little pleasure out of owning dressy watches.

The Polar would go quite well with a suit! I did it a few times when I owned one.

I know this is an old thread, but I just acquired mine a few weeks ago and wanted to share my thoughts, because this is something that kept me from getting into this watch for several years.

I was mistaken. Is the 16570 the perfect watch to wear with a suit? Probably not. But it looks damn fine with a suit, is very comfortable and slides nicely under a cuff. That’s all important to me, because I have days and trips where I will wear switching between a suit and more casual dress, and it’s perfect for those times.

So now I go with my Nomos Orion for the “suit only” days, and the EXPII for the double duty. As I said, IMHO it looks damn fine.

With the advent of smart watches, I am seeing even a wider variety of timepieces on well-dressed people in offices. A 16570 is down right conservative and classic compared to Apple Watches and GPS-equipped running watches. I also am seeing a lot of very large (greater than 40mm) diameter watches that do not fit well under a suit jacket.

Not w a suit...but great for more sporty dress. Unless you hate the DJ, try a TT 41 DJII for your daily wear a a suit. IMO, more fitting.

Happy Shopping

Absolutely yes. I wear suits every day and alternate between various diver (mostly Sub lately) 95% of the time. A Rolex sports watch with a suit is pretty much the standard of being well dressed in an office environment; heck, it's almost a cliche at this point.

People wear sports model Rolexes with suits all the time. I believe that they mistake expensive for appropriate. It looks gauche to me, unless an Explorer 1, which can pass but still is not really appropriate either.

Notice that this question is coming up on a watch enthusiast site, where people will be found to say "sure, I do it all the time". Bring this up on a men's fashion site and you'll get a different bias to the answers. What these questions are looking for is not opinion but permission. The answer being looked for is "yes" so it is asked where that answer is most likely to be obtained.

I wear my GMT-C LN with a suit all the time. It looks great with the pcl's etc. No issues whatsoever in my eyes. The Kermit looks ok with a white or pink shirt too

Of course you can, don’t be silly. Nobody cares anymore. Oh, and they’re letting women work now too.

It’s a Rolex, it looks good in anything. Go for it.
