Tudor big block question

Hi everyone. I am looking to pick up a Tudor big block 79160/70/80. With regards to the price for them - is there any particular example that commands a premium? I am thinking that the 79160 with panda and black tachymeter insert is the most expensive. Are the 70/80 with steel bezel and rotatable bezel valued about the same to collectors? Thanks for any info..

By the way, I bought a 79180 off DavidSW today with box and papers but I would like to add another one so hence this is why i am asking :)

Also, what is the correct Tudor box for this watch

thank you,

Josh

Hi Josh, from what I saw observing the market before I bought 79180, the with rotating bezel and the one Bakelite Tachymeter are more expensive and the white dials are more expensive then the black dials.

But I'm not an expert.

I don't think there's a bezel option that demands more from collectors than others. I also don't think one bezel type is rarer than another.

Panda dials tend to be more desired by collectors, although it also makes the hands harder to read.

Congrats on the 79180!

The 79160 with black tachy plastic bezels command a premium when the bezel is in good shape. The plastic was prone to delamination and cracking. I can say from first hand experience that Rolex does have the insert in stock but only with full service.

I have the silver dial one with black sub-dials. Readability is questionable, but I love it nonetheless.

Any of these are great pickups Josh. Going nowhere but up in value if you don't overpay. Which I am sure you wouldn't!

Thanks!! I want to start a big block collection. I have 2 so far. On the way. A 79180 from davidSW with reverse panda and full set for 4k flat and I just picked up another 79180 with silver panda watch only. That one was a great deal.

Thanks Adam. I just looked into the 94200/210/300 after some research. They seem to be fairly scarce compared to the 79xxx examples but I do like them

Hi Great choice of watch , & agree I don't think different bezels have any effect on values . Picked both of these up at a very good price & both with box & papers .

Beauties. What would you consider a good price for both those watches? Trying to figure out what I should be paying for nice examples.

Thank you I do like them, and to be honest I don't keep an eye on prices anymore . I used to look at every one for sale ,to see if paid over the odds & at the time I might of, but did buy them several years ago. I know one cost about £1600.00 & the other about £1800.00 , But would like to think they are worth about £3500-4000 each now .
Good look finding one & they really are great watches with the added date bonus .

It will feel like years for me too. Trust me. I'll post some pics near the end of the year when I get my big block collection going in full swing !
