How accurate are your older Rolexes?
I have recently timed all of mine and I'm happy with the results. It looks like my transitional sub may need a service, though. I use the Twixt app on my iPhone. It's not great, but it does the job.
What are your results? And how do you time them? |

Thanks guys, good to know that's a basically good range, especially for vintage watches.
Regarding the app, I've also used Kello, which is used sound rather than visuals. It hasn't worked for me, but this may because I haven't used an external microphone. |

I am a newbie and have only been using my cell phone to tell the accuracy of my 78 sub just back from service. My first and only vintage watch. I wear it daily for about 12 hours and during the day it seems spot on, but at night it sits and seem to gain about 2 seconds.
Could this be the case? I been checking regularly for about 2 weeks now. |

I find my vintage good enough to the point that I still enjoy wearing them. They are after all mechanical devices, some heading towards 40 to 50 years old. If they are a few seconds out in a day, its not a huge issue for me. If that ever changes, its probably time to move them on.

most of mine run, I only worry if they are off a minute or more a day. that said most keep time within 5 to 10 seconds plus or minus per day.

Believe it or not, my 1995 16520 is about 7 seconds slow versus the USNO clock that I sync it with.
That might not sound that impressive, but I haven't unscrewed the crown since February 1st. |

My 1.2 mil 1018 runs consistently at -1-2s per day, easily keeping time with my newer models.
