Sea Dweller 1665 Help
I am thinking of purchasing this 1979 (6.1 Million serial) 1665. From what I have gathered the dial is an old service replacement, given that it doesnt look to be an mk3. The fact that when exposed to sunlight the dial, hands, and pearl light up green in the dark reinforces my belief. But what is really getting me is the fact that the bracelet does not have a date code, but the number stamps of 91350/580 are what you would expect to see. Any additional thoughts would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance folks! |

Almost 100 views and no comments... should I be worried?

No expert here but 1979 and 6M and it glows means it's most likely all service parts hands and dial.
Not sure but end links should be 585.

Good call on the end links! A little research (http://sweepinghand.co.uk/useful-inf...bracelet-type/) I found that for a 1665 should come with either 9315/380 or 93150/585. The 93150/580 is what you expect to see on a Submariner.

So the insert is correct, the pearl is not.
Crown and tube look period correct. Date wheel looks nice. 580 end links can be found on a 1665, especially post service. Bracelet is pretty worked over, I'd get a new one. Service dial. Case is ok, not sure about one of the lugs. Overall I'd pass on the watch unless very cheap. |

Awesome input stmoore. Looks like everything points to a major service job on the watch. As far as one of the lugs... need a better picture?

Post more pictures of the clasp, my impression right now is that you have a 9315 clasp fitted with 93150 links.

For the early 1665, shouldn't the ends on 9315 be 285?
Thank you! |
