First things first, I would like to say hello to all forum members. My name is Paul and I am from the North West of England.

I have been lurking around on the forum for a few months now without posting but trying to pick up as much information as possible on both new and vintage watches. As this is my first post, I hope it is in the right place.

I have just become a 2016 pledge member (PayPal Ref:2NA08279J5883460X) as I don't believe in getting anything for nothing which brings me to a subject that I would like the members opinion/thoughts/help with good or bad.

I have just made my first vintage Rolex purchase. The watch has been sold by Dual Time Srl based in Rome, Italy, and I used Chrono 24's Trusted Checkout service to acquire a 1971 Day Date 1803 in white gold with I'm told, the original box & papers.

There is a stamp on the rear of the guarantee by Remont Joyeros a Rolex dealer who I think are based in Argentina which shows a purchase date of March 1972. The serial number is 27***** which from my research puts it round about 1971/2. I don't think it has the punched guarantee (I assume there should be one) or the instruction manual.

I wondered what forum members think about it based on the attached pictures. Any history or other information on 1803 would be greatly appreciated especially as to what paperwork/manuals would have been included when the watch was new.

Welcome to the site! Yes this is a great site for knowledge and help from all. Looks awesome to me your watch. I have no idea about the warranty I am sure someone will answer your question. Wear her in good health she is a beauty!

I don't know what you paid but, I wouldn't call this a proper full set or even a legitimate box and papers watch. Head only WG 1803's are selling for about $6000, full sets much more. If you paid more than 6k I would say you overpaid but, the watch is legit and the dial is also lovely. Proper box I believe would be the red president box with white outer box.
