Tied with the white-dialed ceramic SS Daytona!

This new Explorer is a winner. Can't wait to try one in in real life.

Thank freaking God they fixed the short hands. For the life of me I could never understand why Rolex put those short pencil thin hands on the Explorer. On top of that all the people acting like it was no big deal...............it was horrible.....LOL. Thank you Rolex for coming around.

Indeed
Lovely, it is now a perfect watch.

IMHO Rolex should do a recall on the previous version and replace the minute hand.

I think I'll likely end up with one of these and possibly a while dial Daytona. But something tells me the wait might be a while for one of those...

New 2016 Explorer

Do AD's do trade ins, or are you best selling privately?

Yes they will do a trade-in but that fetches less capital recovery for you overall due to two reasons. First, they must leave room in the trade value to resell your watch at a profit (about the same as pawn broker buy price). Second, your watch will lose value since your order won't be filled for another year methinks.
That said, I'd sell onward to a private buyer now. Avoid local dealers who will low-ball you and focus on buyers who want to wear a LNIB Rolex.
And then use those funds to place the order - your AD will be glad to sell you a second Rolex. Remember, they don't need to know what you're doing to fund the purchase.

Looks perfect, glad I sold my 39mm explorer. Still don't understand why Rolex would have put out a watch they knew wasn't right.

WINNING!!!!!! I went so far as to ask Bamford to make me a larger set of explorer hands (they denied me to).

Looks like an explorer might be in my future again.

So is this evidence that Rolex reads TRF and takes our advice?

The change to the dial and hands is a worthy change, but Rolex still falls short of the mark by not updating the movement to provide a longer power reserve and more importantly a ball bearing race rotor.

Excellent update to the Explorer. The lack of lume on the 3,6 and 9 always killed me.

I'm loving this one!
