I was given a Rolex
Hello Everyone,
I've been casually looking at new DJ's and pre-owned Daytona's. My girlfriend's father, now 76, wears a gold and SS DJ from the '90's. We took them out to dinner last night for their 49th anniversary and at dinner I ask to see his Rolex. Its in amazing condition and he has had it serviced just once since buying it new. The next day I take my GF and her Mom shopping at Short Hills Mall here in NJ. To get a few things for our Italy trip coming up in May. We had great time shopping, etc. We visited Rolex looked at a few watches, among hitting other shops, etc. When we returned back to have dinner at her parents. Her father approaches me and states; With a clenched fist and a smile on his face (thank God thought he was going to strike me, (joking.)). He states, "put out your hands son, I want to do this." He places his watch into my open palm. I was silent, then I was refused it; I was in a state of shock and joy. Then I shed a tear or two (or three). I'm still in awe. When we arrived back to my place to retire for the night...... Cindy asks; "Aren't you going to take the watch off?" I said "nope"........... ................I wore the watch all night.  J. |
