Super Jubilee Clasp Placement

I know I may be overthinking this but my OCD doesn't exactly help...

I am obsessed with making sure the clasps of my oyster bracelets are perfectly centered on my wrist. On Submariner and GMT bracelets I have this down to a science, half links here and there, 6 at 12 and 4 at 6, bla bla bla.

BUT, I picked up a DJ with the Super Jubilee over the weekend and I've been trying to find the perfect fit.

My first thought was to get the crown on the clasp right in the middle of my wirst and I did just that, but as it turns out, getting the crown centered also means the actual clasp ends up on the Ulna side of my wrist.

So the question is, do you center the clasp to your wrist (crown ends up high on wrist) or center the crown?

If you can share some pics, please share!

I center the folding metal and not the emblem.

What works best for me is what (I think) Mike is describing above. The line that the crown sits on makes a good target.

To qualify though, I've never had the jubilee with hidden clasp, so I can't help you much there.

Never mind where the crown goes, make the clasp convenient. For me, the crown is at the side, clasp is perfectly centered.

your centered crown picture looks ridiculous to me. You have to center the clasp for maximum comfort IMO.

Thank you all for the feedback. I agree, I tried to center the crown for the look but totally took away the comfort of the bracelet by having locked on my bone due to the odd placement.

It is now centered (clasp) and even though the crown sits a little high, it feels great!

Thanks.

I have my datejust with the clasp centred. I think it would be pretty uncomfortable with the clasp offset to centre the Rolex crown? :S

Thats totally fine. My date date crown is a little off. You need to enter the clasp and to do that you cant have the center crown be in the center.

Clasp first for comfort, the crown rest slightly taller on the wrist.
Unlike Patek Philippe the calatrava cross is center at mid point.

Centering the clasp for comfort should be the goal. I had the same thoughts with my wife's super jubilee band and comfort won.

Beautiful watch, and bautiful car too.

This is a great post.

Although I have a DJ41 it is on the standard jubilee with folded clasp, my BLNR has a super jubilee and I've taken links out of it to fit and have wondered if I did it from the correct side. Is my crown where it's supposed to be?

When I saw the 1st picture I was like, no way that's not right mine is both centered at the clasp AND at the crown.

Of course that's not true, I had to pull it out of the safe to double check.

This is the LV SubC & BLNR side by side, held in the same position on my fingers at the clasp - you can see where the crown lines up naturally.

Check out photos:

This illustrates it perfectly. Centered clasp is the "correct" method.

A butterfly deploying would be when you want to center the "crown."

And in both instances, the center should be slightly closer to the 6-hour marker.

(I just made that all up.)

This is perfect!! I think this may be the way after all ... Thank you so much for the wonderful illustration.

Clasp dead center, crown up higher. Yay!

You're right. I took both photos while the links were in the "center crown" position.

I just wanted to illustrate what I was trying to ask. I've since moved the links around to get the clasp centered and it is no longer "locked in place" by my bones.

Fits very nicely. I'm going to snap a quick photo

IMO the Super Jubilee works best with the clasp centered. I tried to center the crown on my 116234, and to achieve this I had to have more links on the 6 o'clock end of my DJ. This caused the bracelet to weigh down on the 6 o'clock side, which made it uncomfortably on my wrist. It's a balance thing.
