Pics are here

Here ya'll go.

I think you'll be able to see the difference between the link edges on the top and bottom of the band and how slight the modification is on the bottom where it touches my wrist.

How it was done

I talked to the watch maker at my local shop where I bought it. He used the exact same equipment and compounds he uses to polish a bracelet when it's in for service. Basically a set of small buffing wheels and polishing compound. When done, he washes it off and pops it into a sonic cleaner. He only had the bracelet and I retained the watch body. If he was polishing the watch body also, before he put it into the sonic cleaner he would have removed the movement.

If it works for you (and you're happy with the end result), that's all that matters. Me personally, I feel as though you ruined a perfectly good bracelet for nominal gain.

The funeral dirges have begun. This is great. I like being an outsider! I'm definitely a terrible person.

The dealer said that no warrantee problem would be caused and they would service it if needed. This dealer does Rolex service except for the movement servicing.

That's interesting. Is this an AD that polished your bracelet or an independent? Sorry if this has been answered earlier.

Good job, you did what you needed to do to make your watch comfortable. Looks like a well-done, subtle job.

A stainless steel watch bracelet is not a holy relic. Pay no mind to those who would condemn you for modifying it a little for the sake of wearability.

What other servicing is required other than movement servicing?

Authorized dealer. Russell Korman Jewelry Austin TX. They've been a authorized Rolex dealer for many years.

I did that to a Ted Su dive buckle. The bottom edge was as sharp as a knife. I smoothed it out with a small buffer and it feels like butter now.

I can't say I would have the stomach to do that to a Rolex bracelet though. Not unless I was 1000% sure I'd never try to flip it.

Nice!

One of the better hacks IMO. Much better than chipping off your cyclops

I've never heard of a Rolex having sharp edges.

Now, the Tudor Pelagos on the other hand is so sharp you could shave with it!

My wrist must be the most sheltered, tender and worthless wrist ever! If I wasn't such a PC guy I, would say it's a pussy wrist. But I'm too PC to say that so I won't.

Oh the horror!!! How dare you change the flawless design that is Rolex for mere comfort and joy of your skin??? The gods of Rolex shall frown upon you for eternity!!!!

Good clean fix to a problem that was taking away from your enjoyment of the watch.

If it increases your enjoyment and appreciation of the piece, there is no meaningful downside. Well done. A tool's gotta feel good and right to do its job.

It's your property and if this will enhance your enjoyment of your watch then good for you, unless pointed out 99% of people would not notice it has been polished. Enjoy
