Where Mick lives the answer is, in fact, often yes. Tastes and cultures have subtle (and not so subtle) differences each side of the pond.

I'm easy either way, however, the problems with diamonds on a dial is that they physically cannot be set in such a manner as to show them at their best. As such they can be underwhelming in their appearance compared to a more traditional setting such as in a ring.

My wife wears a 116231 with diamonds. I have worn it a couple times. I think it looks classy.

If you like 'em, get it. Is it "too" flashy? I don't know - what do you think?

I've been thinking about picking up a DJ (116238) in YG, with black dial and diamond markers as an occasional dress watch. I think it looks elegant.

Yes, Rolex factory diamonds are top quality. What do you give up? Lume, seconds markers. So it depends on you. Beautiful watch either way!

I put on a black and diamond dial datejust 2 at the AD while buying my wife's diamond dial/bezel datejust. Was very tempted to buy it (matching his/hers, mine more masculine without a diamond bezel though), but decided against it. Just not the right time.

although I am not a fan of diamonds for men, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, especially with a rhodium dial. Wow, that is a nice looking combo!

I was debating this myself and whenever I asked a friend which one to get (dj41 rhodium dial or blue dial with diamonds) they just say go for the stoneless one. So just wear what you like, people will always judge you no matter what. Same thing is said about people wearing YG watches...there's no universal taste

I believe diamonds are to be worn my women, but that's me. If you want people to notice your watch and you want people to know you have apparently 'MADE IT!!' and you want "some ice on your wrist so you look better when you dance" by all means go for the BLING. It's easier than walking around with a flashing neon arrow pointing at your watch, I guess.

If you can find a 116613LN Diamond dial go for it. Only you will notice the diamonds no one else will see them at all. It is by far the Hottest TT sport out there.

I agree. It's the only diamond dial that has ever moved me at all.

I love the new SS DJ41 in rhodium dial, diamond index, and oyster band! For whatever reason, I think the Jubiliee band makes it a bit more mature look to it and oyster band is for younger professional.

Good to see I am not the only one thinking of DJ41 with diamond!

Depending on the model, it can look stunning. Here's a good example:

I think people will be much more likely to notice a 2 tone watch than they are to notice a watch on account of its diamond indices. The fluted bezel is more shiny than the diamonds.

Yes and herein lies the problem. To a lot of us, men wearing diamonds is akin to the flashing neon arrow and it is plain vulgar and tasteless. On the other hand, some chaps just cannot believe that such attitudes exist.

When I discussed this topic with my wife, she came back with a quick quip, "yes today you want a diamond watch, tomorrow you will be dying your hair jet black."

There will never be a meeting of minds on this.

Regards

Mick
