Pam 233 - Which series?

If I want the dot dial, which series is best? Are there any known issues with particular series? Also, does anyone have a list of the series and their respective years?

Thanks!

I believe H, I, and J were dot dials, the am/pm were anything after K (I may be wrong), and I've seen multiple postings and reviews that the I series had movement issues, possibly the J series, too. I have an N series that has recently lost only 8 seconds in over a week.

I had an "I" 2006 and believe this is the first production year. There were issues but it was random. I never had those issue myself, I no longer have it but if I were to choose again I'll choose the dot vs the pm/am and done crystal..

Here's a link might help you. Good luck!

I believe my dot is a K series, and I had trouble. All fixed under warrantee, twice: stopped and jumping hour busted.

The last problem was a splash from a wash basin (yes a splash) caused fogging under the dome. That was expensive, and unforgivable in a diving heritage watch.

I still love the 233, but I am cautious about recommending Panerai.

The 233 Dot Dial is my favorite Panerai but it has known issues. I've contemplated buying pre-owned but I would factor in the cost of service. With current prices I haven't pulled the trigger. I've looked at the new AM/PM models and they just don't sing to me like the dot dial. I'm hoping for a re-launch one day!

I miss my dot dial; the (AKA: my new) AM/PM just isn't as simple and sexy (to me).

I actually prefer the am/pm dial. The dot dial looks a bit unbalanced to my eyes.
