Which AL&S to keep?
Am trying to consolidate a bit and with my Urban Jurgensen getting a lot of work/dress wrist time I think one of these two has to go. I am leaning towards keeping the Saxonia, which is probably my dressiest piece. The 1815 would be a great "one watch" but as part of a collection that I am trying to reduce to a "baker's dozen" it isn't distinct enough from the Saxonia and the UJ.

Keep both. Seriously, let others go. You can't have enough ALS in a collection :-)

I prefer the second piece, but would let both go as I am more sport oriented, would love to see pics of your Jurgensen though

Based on the urban
I would keep the saxonia. I think the 1815 is more similar to your other one, but the urban is nicer. I think the pair you will end up with is outstanding.

I'd keep the Saxonia because I prefer the gold hands over the blued hands.

I agree with the way you are leaning. I think I would prefer the 1815 in a vacuum, but if for sure keeping the UJ, I would keep the Saxonia as the pair.

Love UJ but think printed hour markers is a bit lazy versus applied

Actually hand painted enamel hour markers on a "grenage" finished dial, which gives a micro-frosted look that is hard to capture in photographs. The UJ website describes it in detail. Definitely not a "lazy" way to make a dial.

Which AL&S to keep?
Quote:
I have seen the watch in the metal and seen the Grenache effect. Yes you are correct on the numerals - I remember them being filled. I do think they make the best watch boxes as a side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would consider selling both ALS's and buying either: Lange 1 in rg, or go 1815 Chrono wg black dial.

So I decided to move the 1815 but found a blue-handed replacement from AL&S...

The saxonia by far looks better than the other, but the saxonia looks like every patek or Vacheron in existence. Tough call. The saxonia would be what I’d keep.

I love the UJ. I’ve drooled over it for a couple of years. Maybe when my youngest is done with college. How is the fit, reliability etc. My other thought was an octa automatic with date. Any guidance would be appreciated

The UJ has been great overall. Very accurate (2-3 seconds/day) and the movement and finishing are terrific. The dial at first glance is lovely but the "grenage" is really only appreciable with a loupe. Looks great on a dark brown strap.

I like your new Lange and it's different enough from your UJ and your Saxonia to have a place in your collection. To be honest, however, the UJ is my least favorite of the four.
