Antique? Is it worth getting a proper valuation ?

Was my wife's grandad's- bought in 1920s in Ireland ?

Looks like a great watch. I don't know enough to evaluate it or confirm its authenticity but that style watch is what panerai ended up using later iirc

Whether or not you get it valued I would recommend taking it and getting it serviced. Check for rust at the very least. I get a lot of people with old watches and they don't want to spend the money on appraisals or repairs, but I always recommend making sure there is no rust or corrosion so that it can at least remain in its current condition. Hate to see these old pieces rot away.
