Price increasing

Hi guys,

any idea on when Rolex usually have their price increases? is it an annual thing and what sort of percentage does it usually go up by. Or is it different for different models???

You can look at this history of price increases for trends, but I don't think you'll find much help in predicting when or how much.

It's actually different for different geographic locations. In the US, we haven't had a price increase since 2012.

It's all the rage to speculate on this. New models get new prices, typically not far from previous models. Current models without updates haven't changed prices in several years, I believe. Anyone's guess as to if/when and by how much. Sooo many variables of course ... every AD salesperson will warn you that you should buy sooner than later as the rumor is a price increase is right around the corner. One day they will be correct

Rolex last price increase across the board in Malaysia
16th Jan 2017
6% for SS
7-8% TT
10 % Solid gold

Depreciation or strengthening of the Malaysian currency Ringgit(It was volatile in the last 2 years but has stabilized since) against the Greenback plays a crucial role in the MSRP here.If the Ringgit under-performs and weakens over time then Rolex HQ will issue a directive to Rolex Malaysia to revise the prices upwards

Depends on who you ask. If a salesman at ad most times it's real soon. In reality not very often.

Uk needs one immediately 10-15%. That way the prices will be similar to other markets and the availability/supply issues will end.

Its no use having lower prices if you can't find a watch to begin with. Just saying.

as to when that will happen, who knows. The UK is the one market that sticks out like a sore thumb with prices, and Rolex knows it.

UK had one last on Nov 1st, so I guess around the same time this year we are due. As Tyler says most of us would now rather have one to get supply going again. I'd try and buy before then if I were you.

That is so true in fact I was going to ask this question /create a new thread when I stumbled on this thread, cause a few days ago a salesperson in a local AD told me that if I want to make purchase I better do it before August, cause the price will increase in August.

I don't care about the price increase for my watches value,,,as I have no intention to sell any....

But, maybe a 10% increase in the UK will help..
Help the waiting lists,,,especially in London

Crazy to think people are getting told 6 months to wait for a Sub etc

If you want a BLNR, like in the USA - you should be able to contact your AD and just go and get one

I think The US market is so different than Europe. In US we are an on demand society and Rolex knows this. If I walked into an AD and can't get the watch I want NOW, I eventually get over it and look somewhere else. In Europe the mentality is so different. Europeans will research, window shop, etc. Look at amazons business model. Prime now delivered to your door in 2 hours. They have no such thing yet in Europe.

You can find almost any Rolex except Daytona C any day of the week in USA. Not the same story in Europe. Rolex marketing is magical. They know what they are doing.

as an american myself living in europe i do tend to agree that the mentality is different.
Europeans have more patience. I see that every day as londoners love waiting in queues. Every time i walk past a bus stop i am amazed and how patient and self organized everyone is

That said. The problem with supply is the prices, not that Rolex is not focusing on the UK because we WILL wait. As long as an american can come and get any Rolex and get a VAT refund and pay 30%+ less than US prices+ tax there will be no supply. Furthermore it is LESS profitable for Rolex to send watches to the UK vs the US in the first place as the pound vs swiss franc has fallen way more than USD to swiss Franc. So the margins are lower.

Nobody can tell you for sure. It's a decision that Rolex makes.
It all depends on market research and currencies rates.
