Sd 43----pricing.

Price dropping like crazy! How long until we see the asking price under MSRP?
I'm going to guess August 15th. Lol. Anyone else with a guess?

It went from a handful of pieces to widespread availability. Obvious the price will drop to close to retail and remain there for sometime.

Availability is getting more plentiful and with that the grey market premiums will settle down. It is not rocket science, just supply and demand pricing.
Historically we see this with just about every new and/or updated reference from Rolex with exception to the stainless steel Daytona.

I own the reference and like it better than my Deep Sea blue, however, love my SD4000 more than the 43 and 44... Cool thread, grey asking prices are dropping, however, question for you is how low are you expecting it to drop before you pick one up?

I'm thinking MSRP will hold as it did with the BLNR in the first 12 months.

I think eventually we'll able to get it below MSRP as the SD43 supply is catching up with the demand and SD43 is a polarized watch as many don't like it. Not to mention is the availbilty of the SS SkyD, some people tends to move from one hot watch to another

ADs are discounting less on SS pieces, so I would expect it would bottom out around MSRP no tax.

Hats off to Rolex for sending so many out finally.

I think Steves take on this is about right. I know my AD has reduced discounts on most SS and PM pieces. I guess demand is good

I spoked with a local AD about it on Friday. I have no rapport with them. They said there are a couple of customers with priority remaining, but they don't imagine there being any supply issues at all with them. She said I could have one in a few months.

With new models, demand outstrips supply at release. The "gotta have it now" crowd pays premiums to get these models early so we see premium prices on the gray market. $16,000 to $20,000 was common for the first month. I don't know if supply shortages are genuine or engineered by Rolex, but the result is the same. The first few people to flip them out make a nice profit. Once supply constraints ease up you see the prices drop. Soon some of the flippers will lower their prices in hopes of just breaking even. Then come the discounted prices. If history is any gauge I'd say 12-18 months before we see discounts to retail.

Do you think there will come a day when the SD4K and SD43 BNIB pricing curves cross? What about the "excellent" used condition?

Good. At last. The way it should be. All this BS with 10 year waitlists, premiums and seller expecting you to buy a PM model as well for the "privilige" to buy a certain model. etc. I love the brand (and my GMTc) but all this fuss surrounding buying a watch is total nonsense and an unsustainable business model in the long run. No business stays in business not selling you what you want.

The RRP in the U.K. For the SD43 is £8350 from AD very hard to get your hands on it for RRP.
The non ADs are selling between £10,000 and £12,500.
Would love to know what the RRP is for the rest of the world??
I was told the UK is the cheapest in the world for Rolex would be interested to know if this is the case.

In the US it's $12,350.00. Aside from a few gray dealer sales here, most are being sold at RRP and in some cased discounted the tax (as mine was in June) if paying in cash.

Cheers,

J

I believe the MSRP is $11,300, not $12,300......

Unless Rolex drops the red text in the near future, that's not happening.
