Scratched Crystal - London
Morning,
My wife has a 36mm Datejust, reference 116234. Her Crystal was scratched, however the watch is 1 year old. Any recommendations on where the best place would be to fix it in London? The watch does not require servicing as is running fine, and Rolex are quoting almost £700. I understand the case needs opening, so just wondered if anyone knew some quality jewellers who would be more competitive with pricing. Thanks. |

At just 1 year old if it is really bad I would stick with Rolex due to warranty issues etc, however if not too bad try polishing it out a bit and wait until service time to replace it.

Try Wempe in New Bond St, they have an in house watch maker and can be more flexible than RSC.

Send and email to an accredited independent watchmaker like Robert Reeves or Watchworks in Bristol.

Similar story with my wifes watch. was about 2 years old and not due for a service but rolex replaced the crystal without doing a service for $340 (AUD).

I would ask Rolex to just change the crystal and not preform a service. If they will not find a competent AD that can complete the work desired.
