I am looking out for a vintage and narrowed done to these 2 ref.

What are the main differences BTW these 2? I only know that 16700 has sapphire while 16750 has plexi.

I believe it’s mostly a movement difference. The 16700 had a hacking feature I believe. I thought the 16750 had sapphire crystals about halfway through their run.

Both refs had lug hole cases, tritium lume and are gmt master (1)s - so can only measure 2 time zones

16750 had plexi all through its run - up to mid 1984 they had matte dials, after this gloss dials with gold surrounds

16700 always had sapphire

16750 had cal 3075, 16700 had 3175

16750 sold from 1981-88, 16700 from 1988-99

Both are fantastic references, but early matte dialed 16750s go for a hefty premium (maybe 5k) over later 16750 and 16700 examples (expect to pay @$10k now)

The 16700 eventually replaced the 16750.

The 16700 introduced the sapphire crystal, the "160 click" bezel, and modified the movement slightly.

Different movement - 3075 vs 3175
Different crystal - plexi vs sapphire
Different Bezel - friction bezel vs 120 click bezel. Inserts are also different size. 16750 has a larger insert.
