Does anyone shower or bath with their DJ?

I’m sure there is a thread surrounding this topic somewhere in the forum.

I’ve had my DJ 36 for almost one month now and I’m still in that ‘babying’ stage of ownership.

I always take my watch off before I get in the shower or take a dip in the pool.

I know that DJs are capable of 100 metres waterproofness but I was wondering if anyone else on the forum share my feelings in this.

And happy Lunar New year

You'll have no issues doing either of those things.

It’s fine. I’ve gone swimming with my DJ41 plenty of times.

I heard that hot water and soap will damage the watch seals. Don't quote me on that.

Where is that thread where one of our members boiled his watch (Sub?) then froze it in a block of ice.
That was an epic thread!
Searched.....but can't find it.

Should help the OP get over his shower anxiety.

It's perfectly fine, although the dishwasher seems to be a trending option.

Wife has a circa 1990s DJ36 we get serviced at normal intervals and she beats the living %^&# out of it, showers with it daily, swims on the beach with it, occasionally forgets to take it off so works out vigorously with it every now and then.

Go ahead and wear it rain or shine, shower or beach... you have no worries as that what makes a Rolex a Rolex.

And if you can't be bothered reading the whole thread (which is worth it) here is the YT vid from page 6. This was boiling it after it had been frozen in a block of ice.

My wife does the same with her '97 15200 oyster date I gave her. It simply takes the abuse without complaint.

I own a Sub Date. Excellent condition never been inside any water except being washed with hair shampoo under filtered tap water without any sediment. Even when I wash my sub I really worry alot.
I personally do not trust to the brand and try my chance. 300 meters water resistance even sounds bs to me.

If it gets water inside will you be able to find parts with good prices very easily? I do not think so. You will pay another 10k 20k or 30k at the AD for a new one. Better not to risk.

I wear my DD in the shower, ocean, pool, sauna and hot tub with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Okay there was one issue but it wasn’t a big deal.

Say it ain't true...

Actually the above were gag photos...the below is the real deal wearing my Daytona for timing lap swimming. The reason I only wear it in the shower after swimming is because I don't like leaving soap residue on it or under it on my wrist.

It’s safe to wear your DJ in the shower or bath, I’d just give it a nice cool rinse off afterwards and get the potential soap hunk out of in between the links. The issue with showers and baths that people tend to run into is the ceramic tiles or other hard surfaces that people smack the watch against. If you’re careful you can avoid this though, wear it and enjoy!

I always shower with mine to keep it clean and prevent bracelet stretch, just make it gets a rinse after shampoo and use normal bar soap. Wash the watch last thing before getting out so as to avoid dead skin etc.

It’s god for your watch.

Just use the watch. It was built to be used. I even use my vintage Rolex watches in the shower, swimmingpool, ocean, sauna and so on. I have the watches checked from time to time to make sure that they are safe to be used as intended. I’ll make sure that the crown is screwed tight as a precaution.
