A large gorilla would be about 6 foot, and weigh 450 lbs. About the same size as Chewie.
While a large Kodiak grizzly is about 5 foot, (can stand up to 10) and weighs 1,500 lbs.

I did lose 12 lbs overnight but it’s mostly water.

Both animals in their prime, the grizzly would outweigh the Gorilla significantly. The Gorilla may be smart enough to use an object as a weapon but not in the manner a human would like in movies. In a brawl the grizzly would shred the gorilla.

Just like in a fight between men, it’s hard to overcome a significant difference in weight. Therefore I think the Grizzly is probably winning because it’s the bigger dog in the fight.

Upon further review it appears Grizzlies have a particular move the Gorilla may not see coming.

Depends on the season of the year. If the silverback can sneak up on the bear in winter whist sleeping and not wake him/her up it's over.

3x weight and then he has razors for hands and teeth for eating meat. Skin thick enough the gorilla can’t penetrate it with his teeth or hands.

This wouldn’t even be a fight. It would be an assassination. I don’t think the grizzly would pick a fight with a massive gorilla to begin with as there is easier prey to be had.

The bear also would presumably look at the gorilla as a potential meal whereas the gorilla wouldn’t be eating the bear. Motivation for a meal goes a long way.

Attacking when the grizzly is hibernating isn’t really all that sportmanslike. I bet even gorillas have a code or something.

Given all the points given previously on the advantages a grizzly may have in a straight up fight, it's in the silverbacks best interest to eliminate his enemy when they least expect it. The Art of War.

I love trick questions.

Obviously, the answer is neither. Chewie could take them both on.

I’m going silverback. I think the combination of strength and agility somehow would take the grizzly.

Yeah, I ran the numbers too. Grizzlies are big as shit and with those wolverine hands would give a gorilla the business.

You’re definitely right, but now I’m wondering if 5 silverbacks could team up and take down a big grizzly. That could be more competitive. In other news, according to a 2021 poll, 6% of American women and 7% of American men think they could beat a Grizzly in hand to hand combat.

Lower percentages than I would have guessed sadly. From my understanding if you’re carrying a standard caliber unmentionable you’re better off not firing at a grizzly as it will just piss it off. That’s about all you need to know lol

Also bears have extremely low heart rates so they do not bleed out quickly. Since air in blood out is major factor in quick death one needs to really open a bear up or shut down his CNS for quick stop.
