Should I?

Not long time ago I bought a Rolex Explorer II 42mm polar. Right now I only have two watches, Explorer and Deep Sea, the DSSD is my favorite one.

Long time ago, I had a Breitling B1 Super Quartz, I loved it but was obly 30 meters...

So here is the thing, do you think I'll do right if I sell the Explorer and buy the new Breitling Avenger 2 Chrono (grey/brown dial) with bracelet and maybe later leather and rubber.

If I do that, I'll keep more than 1k € in my pocket, but I don't do it thinking in money.

I like the Breitling for few reasons:

Date

Steel

300 meters

Crhono that can be used underwater

Date

Possibility to change straps (with Rolex I will not do it, I don't feel good)

Really important, INDEPENDENT BRAND!

Is that a watch for a hardly use?

Best regards

I think it's a super idea.
I have the breitling super avenger, it's a brilliant watch.
To be honest the rolex explorer series doesn't really do it for me.
So yes, I would agree with you completely my friend
Go for it !

Thank you for your comment.

I'm looking now for prices, I'm impressed...

The price they offer me in Spain is 5000€uros, - 20% disccount and later... cause my wife is from Russia, I can get the 21% tax, so the price will be around 3300€ or so.

In USA the price is already like this. Maybe I should go to USA with this 1K+ € that I'll have and buy there the watch and enjoy some wines in California.

I don't know, I should think very well about this. I know that If tired of a Rolex, easy I can sell it and don't lose money or don't lose much. If I'll be tired of that Breitling, some €uros... The hardest thing, I will not find this watch in the shops in Spain, I'm sure. I mean, I will not find it to take a look first before to buy it.

Best regards

Thank you for the photos.

This all black looks amazing! But if finally I'll buy it, I'll go for the new grey that looks like brown to me (DO YOU THINK IT'S GREY????). Maybe with a ZULU strap will look pure tactic watch.

I should think about it. It's a nice watch, that's for sure.

Keep both Rolex watches and save to fund the Breitling.

Tough call but my thoughts are that if you are even considering trading off one of your watches, you might as well do it. If you really liked it, you would not be contemplating it. I have a super avenger that has not seen my wrist in nearly a year. I fell in love with it at the AD a few years ago. It looks and feels substantial on the wrist. Lately my taste has been for watches in the 40-42mm range. To bring it full circle I think I am going to sell it to fund something else! Get what you want!

Thank you very much for your help

Finally I decided to trade the Explorer for a Panerai 422 and save some money for the Avenger.

Regards

You could do that, but if you change your mind again in say 2 years time you're going to sell that breitling for a lot less.

Well, I'm the kind of persob who buys the watches and if after some timei feel that the watch is not for me, I sell it.

Inknow you I can lose money, but for.me watches are a hobby not an investment.

Cheers

The Breitling you showed is the new Avenger II with the tungsten grey dial which I think looks great. It has a slightly smaller case than the original Avenger (43mm vs 45) and also less thick as well.
