I think you, OP, and John Mayer have SINGLE HANDEDLY created all of the recent hype on this watch.

I mean that in the best way possible. But seriously, wow this has been a self fulfilled prophecy for sure, as another poster said.

Very possibly, but I think there are more variables at play also like a genuine shortage or limited production of this reference. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next year

The hype around this watch is hysterical. I didn't hear a peep about this before JM's last Talking Watches.

I'm waiting for JoM to say the Tudor P01 is the next must have and prices on that to climb ten-fold

The NY Times article just gave new life to this mania and if anything is fueling the bubble. A bunch of speculators who could care less about Rolex will now be pursuing this watch just to sell for a massive profit.

Trends like this are ruining the fun with Rolex.

I think this watch has gone from "low supply, lower demand" to "low supply, high demand" in one video. It will be interesting to see if demand stays or if most move on to the next thing.

I'm not at all saying OP is a trend-following band-jumper-oner. But many others who seemingly just discovered how much they love this watch may be.

I called and TALKED TO THE OWNER of Jaztime, OUT OF STOCK.
Actually they have not had that watch in about 2 months now and says he is getting calls for it and cannot find any.
This is the OWNER of Jaztime speaking, and he agrees that this watch is going up and market for it is over $55,000 right now.

Please before posting these kind of comments, CALL THE company and check if it is in stock.
You'll find almost ALL listing for this watch are out of stock if you call the company and the few
out there that REALLY have it are going for over $55,000.

Spoke to my ad last week about this watch. They ordered one for there diamond buyer and have been told by Rolex that they can never order another one again. Wait is 18-24 months. He has no idea why he can’t order another, but that it’s completely off limits.

Excellent Info...
I got a similar answer from my AD, but not so specific.
I have also talked to many watch sellers I trust and the scarcity is
legit. This is NOT some bubble that will burst anytime soon.
I strongly feel it is following a similar trend to the PP 5711.

Strange you say that, the lugs look even on mine.
Can you explain what you are referring too?

I thought all PM Daytonas have the larger case. IMO, the easiest way to see this is to see if the case extends beyond the bezel near the pushers. TBH, it's easy enough to compare left and right lugs, but this is even easier.

Congrats, OP, on getting this one. I hope you wear and enjoy it!

Nice, thanks for the clarification. It very tough to see unless looking.
It does appear the right lugs on pusher side are very slightly thinner than the left.
And thanks! I am very much enjoying it.
Honestly I wish I found it soon for more reasons than one

The most surprising about this "Times" article is the quote by Paul Altieri stating that Rolex has probably only produced a few hundred of these Green Dial 116508s, in his opinion. I would have guessed a few thousand.

When i saw it i knew i wanted it, then the JM falling watches came out . I went, welp... that’s not happening anymore. I hope he starts getting excited about air Kings so he leaves the good stuff for the rest of us.
