As the sky darkened, the natives began chanting "BLNR, BLNR" while the tribal elders stood on a cliff tossing their Submariners into the raging sea paying homage to the omnipotent god of time Oyster-Ramus. On this day of eternal doom, it was their dying hopes to be reincarnated as SS Sky Dwellers thus preserving the prosperity of countless AD's throughout the planet.

In actuality (at least here in Marin County where the eclipse was only partial), a 1/2 blockage and a 'crescent' outline of the sun was clearly visible to interested viewers.

I caught a glimpse of it this morning at Inverness/Pt. Reyes (around 10:10AM) but opted not to toss my Submariner into the ocean.

If ever a thread gives Rolex owners a bad name, this is it.

of course the "DAYDATE" is only challenged by the Sky Dweller......it's complication would help in this endeavor.

To me the event screams for an Explorer II. Adventures, exploring the environment, that kind of thing.

And if you're not insistent on a Rolex, the ultimate eclipse watch is the Omega Speedmaster.

Really?? Of all the off-the-wall threads on this site, this is the one?

I wore both my 15038 Date and SubC, one on each wrist. I was so busy during the short totality that I forgot to take a pic of them.

Anyways, it was really cool to experience with my family in the NC mountains...
