Thoughts on the 6000g

Hello everyone. I was hoping to hear some opinions from everyone on this watch. I need a "dress watch". Something about this watch really appeals to me. Thanks in advance.

Then that's a real non-brainer!

If you like it, get it.

In my opinion 6000G is an under-valued reference. The movement is fantastic and the dial really nice. This watch is in Top 5 in my shopping list and it would fit well with my other watches with 240 movement.

Best, Kari

Perhaps not the most dressy model in the Calatrava line but a beautiful reference nonetheless, I'd say go for it if it's your style and enjoy it!

Its a great watch, but keep in mind the calendar reset is via a pusher tool and not by the crown. This can make setting up the watch in a rotation more complex.

Debated whether to post but since you asked for opinion rather than praise here goes.
Not a fan of this model, and certainly not for a "dress watch".
The dial's got way too much going on to be even close to what I'd consider suitable for formal wear. Slacks and a sports jacket perhaps, but not a dress watch in the way we usually consider a Calatrava.

It's an 'interesting' model, and one that you probably either love or hate. If it suits you then by all means go for it as I strongly believe it's always best to choose a piece that reflects one's own flair and personality, and this model certainly has that potential. It's unique, artsy, and avant guard. Personally, I'm much too boring and stuffy to be able to appreciate such a thing.

Make sure is not an impulse buy. My advise is to wait a few weeks and come back to it. If the look still has you hooked then you've found a winner!

Thanks so far to all with your opinions and perspectives. I remember reading a post, I think from Tony64, regarding "dress watches". I agreed 100% with that post and have always felt that way about dress watches. The post said something to the effect that date isn't necessary in a dress watch and second hand isn't necessary either but is ok to have on the watch. I usually don't like markers for the hours and usually prefer numerals (Arabic over Roman). I'm not 100% sold on this piece and I am looking for at other options. Just haven't seen the one yet.

I have the grey dial and love it. Perfect size and probably the most unique Patek dial in the price range.

i love the watch , but its too fussy to be dressy ,,, more a daily wear watch , i love the date display. infact , i just think the whole thing is so stylish.

I really like this watch (it has really grown on me) and find it much more interesting than the basic 5227. I'm actually thinking of passing on my nautilus lust for this model. The dial choices are amazing and the chocolate, in particular, is stunning.

Thoughts on the 6000g

Wouldn't be my first choice for a dress watch.

That said, I am a big fan of the 6000g and actively looking for the right example of the discontinued all-black dial version. I like that it is sportier (IMO) than the traditional Calatrava. The movement with micro-rotor is gorgeous!

I have seen the watch only once at an AD, but didn't even try it on as the dial seemed a bit too busy for my personal taste. However it is a unique design and only one of the few black dial PP watches currently available.

really like the movement and the watch is very unique, but the dial doesn't seem as suited to a dress watch as other options, however many of the other options are using the 215 manual wind movement which i am not particularly fond of.

given the choice, i would choose the current dial rather than the one pictured above, seems more interesting, balanced and purposed.

The watch is still interesting to me but haven't made the purchase. I have others on the radar. I tried the 6000g-010 on at the Atlantis in the Bahamas (the name of the store slips my mind). The length of the hands bothered me a little.
