As title forum has been running really slow and getting worse. Viewing on iPad if that makes any difference.

Yes its the server updating the forum data base and sometimes the forum will slow down its normal as it must back it self up.The total the monthly bandwidth download consumption just running the forum now is well over a 1100 gig of data.

Wow. I don't know what that means, but it sounds like a lot.

Not 100% sure but the forum now has a huge amount of data to keep backing up.Or it could be just a server problem perhaps one have gone down, but its intermittent at the moment so could just be server load.

Over here it's been more constant then intermittent so I'm leaning more to a server problem then a server load.

Actually sometimes it does not respond at all.

I'll try to open the website and I'll get an internet explorer error stating it is unable to connect and then upon reopening internet explorer the website responds.

However quite often even when the website initially responds, then I'll try to click a link it will take forever for the next area to respond.

It appears to have gotten worse over the last couple of days.

It is fine for me now.

However I have notified the server administrator and they are looking at the server.

However, one must remember that between the server and your home/office there are many gateways upon which the information must travel back and forth. If one of those gateways is not operating properly, then you will experience a problem. This is beyond my control, and all I can say is that hopefully it will be resolved very soon.

In that regard, it may be desirable to re-propagate or re-initialise your connection with the forum.

It is not a universal experience, and as such it is related to individual locations. This may well be the cause of the problem that is also being experienced by some of their non-receipt of emails through the forum. If there is a bottleneck at one of the many gateways between the server and your home/office then when an email is sent, if it times out, at a bad gateway, then you will not receive that email.

This problem is not your fault or a fault at our end. Please be patient and it will be resolved.

The above post took only 1-2 seconds to go live after hitting the 'quick reply' button.
