Couldn't resist, but it does sum it up, I wouldn't buy either PREGO.

I want to see the watch in person before making any judgment. People can easily be swayed by photos, but when you see it in person, it may be totally different.

One of the strangest watches ever :D

Let's see... there are minimum of 3 people involved in this (and we know that number is bigger)

1. Designer who have balls big as melons to suggest this design to creative director/board and not getting fired
2. Creative director (board) who approved this design
3. Big boss(es) who approved production

Even being three people, that's too much of those (in one place) who like big belly and shrinked 27 :)

Has the watch made it the the ADs yet? My understanding is that it has only been displayed at exhibitions and no deliveries as of yet.

+1 So true. Some watches look much better in real life than in photo. Some vice versa.

I like it. The tach is always cool to have. The hump doesn't bother me at all. Not sure yet which colour dial I prefer.

The hump is iffy for me but the micro 120 and swiss made stretch is too much. To many little things add up to a lot of things that bother me on a piece I should be in 100% love with.

Blue is very nice. Seems quite dark blue..maybe it gets better in lighting. But the dial just seems so stuffed and lopsided. Proportions are way off.. so much unused space to the left while completely cramped on the right. Why couldn't the center everything like the 5970?

Also the bottom of dial...Not sure why they did that but the original much better layout and design IMHO.

I'll rotate it for them.
With the 2 upper sub dials below the 9-3 center line they weren't left much room for the moon phase dial after adding the tach, therefore the "PREGO". Here is a quote from a publication that reviewed it.
- Due to the configuration of the new manufacture caliber, the 5270’s seconds subdial and the 30-minute counter are positioned beneath the horizontal center line, shifting the “weight” of the dial to the lower half.
I have also included a photos of the original dial in white and the 5970 (last photo) for some comparison. On the new dial (blue) the 5 & 27 are noticeably smaller, on the original white 5270 the 27 is smaller but not quite as noticeable.
I agree that in person the watch probably looks attractive/stunning, however I still prefer the original 5270 (in white) and even the 5970. It's all a matter of taste. At the price of this you really need to love it.

Absolutely love the blue! However, my thoughts have not changes on the dial design. The prego tach is literally a show stoper for me. However, opinions are like a-holes. Everyone has one. Congrats and wear it in good health. Go get a 5070p strap for it. It will take it to a new level.

If they made every other number on the date subdial the same as the "5" they probably wouldn't have had to impregnate the tach.

Thanks for sharing the photos, el1125! The blue dial looks really nice! Did they change the case on this new model? It may just be the angle the photos were taken, but the case appear more rounded compared to the original 5270.

I also prefer the white dial. I think I will have huge misgivings about the blue dial details at 6 o'clock. It appears like someone trying to redesign the dial and found out they couldn't fit the details into the required space. Look almost like an after thought to me.

Jon Jon not sure about original vs my new one as I didn't buy original. I tried it on and did not like. Seemed a bit boring with the brushed dial to ME and did not look as good as the new blue with tach which I find incredible.
