Amazing. Is that the 5170? If so, can anyone explain why it is more expensive than the 5960, which also has an annual calendar and is self-winding??

Thanks everyone - really happy with this one; it will get plenty of wrist time, would be a real shame to keep it as a safe queen.

I have had a bit of a change of heart recently with regards to my collection. I am weeding out most of the non-Pateks. There may be another incoming shortly, and I may need to change my avatar!

Yes indeed - my AD keeps teasing me, but nothing concrete yet.

I am half way to my dream PP collection. Another step forward may be close though!

That would be a sad day, although I never understood the allure of these uber-priced Milles.

Neither did I until I started buying them! Of all the watches in my collection my Marcus RM011 has been with me the longest.

Re pricing, bear in mind that the 11 is an annual calendar flyback chrono and it is roughly the same price as the equivalent Patek complication, the 5960. The basic RM models I agree are perhaps not exactly value propositions!

To answer your earlier question, this is the 5070 not the 5170; the values are higher as this model (and the 5970) used up the last of the Lemania-based chrono movements and were limited in production, hence collectibility, hence prices going up.

Thanks for the reply. Enlightening to say the least.
