It’s almost as if the glue from the stickers is stuck on it. I tried cleaning with micro fibers and soap and water and also alcohol

Early guess would be salt from sweat or plastic from stickers. Try washing it, regardless.

That is weird. I guess I'd wash it with Dawn or other very good degreaser. If that didn't do it, you could wipe it over with soft cloth (not paper towel) with light amount of lighter fluid (the kind used in lighters, not for a BBQ) or acetone, which would strip all sticky residue.

Hmm very weird indeed. You mentioned you took it to the AD and after they cleaned it it came back. I would go back to that same AD where you purchased from and show them that the dots are in fact still coming back. They should find a resolution as that’s obviously not acceptable for a watch of that caliber to happen. I would keep fighting it u til you’re happy with the results

Don't dump all kinds of chemicals on it trying to clean it, you can actually corrode the gold alloy just like chlorine can. Whatever it is should be coming off easily, if not it's back to the AD for them to solve.

What was the AD’s explanation? Do you know how they cleaned it? Very weird, good luck getting it resolved.

The whole point of buying for an AD is so that you have recourse for something like this so keep on them until this is resolved for good.

I agree that the AD or the Rolex Service Center should fix the watch.
How long did you own the watch before these dots appeared? Did you expose it to chlorine? Or any other substance that could have been corrosive? I'm afraid that there may be superficial corrosion. Cleaning may not help - only polishing. |

Problem is my AD I buy all my Wacthes from is in Colombia and I’m leaving today. (Colombia AD Little watch secrete in these crazy inflation times).
Only had it for one day, didn’t cook or go swimming or anything. If you look closely you can see the little spot aren’t on the band closest to the bezel where there aren’t stickers. I brought it to them and they gave it back and it looked perfect and then hours later dots again. It can’t be corrosion it has to be sticker residue collecting dirt and only showing when dirty. I’m going to try a small spot it nail posing remover. My last option will be sending it to Rolex and I’ll make my AD cover it. |

Try the lighter fluid on a single link ... if that stays clean, it's a sticky or oily residue. If not, then it's in the metal somehow. Did you weigh the watch ... for a PM Sub, should be around 220gm.

It looks like an amalgam anomaly in the gold alloy. Yes, batches of any alloy (a metal made by combining two or more metallic elements) can be defective. Even the wrong temperatures during the alloy creation process can cause a bizarre outcome that surfaces later, since the metal molecules don’t blend properly.
However it would be really bizarre that case and bracelet be smelted at exactly the same time from the same batch. Are you regularly near or have you been near hairspray?

Hmmm keep us apprised of if you find a solution for it. Very weird circumstance and assuming it’s from the stickers somehow.

Yes it’s authentic no need to weight it I can feel the weight it’s real and I have spent close to a million with my Colombian AD as well. they already offered to take it back.
Yes any metal can have issues but it would be in one spot or throughout it all. This is only on the areas the stickers touched there are no dots on the areas the stickers didnt touch |

I don’t think it’s a metal issue because it’s not on the areas the stickers didn’t touch and when they cleaned it you couldn’t see it anymore but after a day of use they came back so once I get home I’ll try the lighter fluid on one link |

See where the sticker didn’t touch close to the bezel. It’s a”U” shape and perfect and polished. This leads me to believe it’s sticker residue

Your theory would be fine if the bracelet wasn’t afflicted with the same problem. There are no stickers on new rolex watches on that area of the bracelet

I wouldn't be experimenting with various chemicals on the watch, especially a gold watch. Some chemicals can be highly corrosive, and even the nicest dealer would have trouble taking back a watch that a client screwed up with chemicals.
So: be patient. Let the AD/Rolex take care of it. Somewhat related: the spots remind me a little bit of the blemishes I got on a rubber band of a Casio G Shock after applying bug spray. It simply can't be removed, as it's eaten into the surface. I'm of course not suggesting that's the case here. And there's a big difference between a 200 dollar rubber Casio and a WG Rolex Sub. As the owner of a Smurf I can and do appreciate the difference. Though I still like my Casios as well! Hope you get the issue sorted soon, OP. Beautiful watch, btw! It sounds like you have a lot of watches. Maybe let them take it back. My first thoughts are it’s most likely adhesive residue attracting other dirt and will eventually go away with multiple rinses. I wouldn’t be too aggressive with it. Even rubbing it with a cloth too much could create scratches. Since there is already debris on the watch, a usually harmless wipe down could move the debris around and scratch it up. This is why I say maybe let it go back. It’s probably nothing serious but who needs a 40 thousand dollar problem, distraction?
