Echo SubC, save for DJ41 later on. It would be a great combo. And I would sell/trade that Omega.

I was debating between a PO and a Subc but after I tried them both on I went for the Subc even tho it was near double the price, but so worth it.

Hard to beat a sub for the first, IMO.

You say you would sell the PO to fund the sub. However this is not the case for the OP.

Can I assume that you therefore not really need the funds in order to purchase the sub? If so, I would recommend getting the sub and keep the PO for a bit longer.

This will confirm or not if both really can't work together. Maybe you can make it work because they are still very different despite both being divers :)

I wish this was the case, but unfortunately I am just shy of being able to afford the OP. Selling the PO would actually put me closer to buying the sub, but might not even get me all the way there. Another reason why I was considering parting ways with it.

Thanks again for all the replies. I think it's pretty clear based on your recommendations what action I should take. It's nice to have a community to bounce this scenario off of. When I asked my wife, she just blank stared me. She gets me in a lot of ways, but not watches lol

Funny this thread started, as I have the same reference PO as you and I am also saving for my first Rolex purchase. I plan on going with the subC date though. The sub is going to be more versatile and is obviously a timeless watch. I say go with the 14060.

Sounds like the Sub is the right choice. You can’t go wrong with the Sub.

Buy the sub, keep the omega if you have to.

Even given your story, the Sub is so much of a better option than an OP39 that I have to say Sub.

You’ll regret not getting a Sub. It’s the best watch I’ve ever owned. Was my grail as well. Only big knock is that it’s way too common but the No-Date is much less common.

I am currently saving for my first Rolex but i've run into a bit of a conundrum that I was hoping I could get your opinion on.

I am torn between the new Rolex OP 39 114300 (black dial) and the SubC No Date 14060.

What is adding to my situation is that I currently own a Omega PO 2500 (orange dial) which I have had 12 years. The watch has been my one and only and carries a lot of sentimental value. It wasn't a gift, but has been on my wrist for alot of big experiences in my life.

If I'm being honest, the Submariner has always been my dream watch. However, If I purchase the sub, I would sell my Omega to fund it as I don't want to own two dive watches. I also know, that the PO wouldn't get much love compared to the Suband I don't want it to sit around and collect dust.

If I purchase the OP 114300, I wold keep the Omega and rock a two watch rotation. I could see the OP taking the majority of wrist time as I work in an office environment. The Omega would be my casual, weekend watch.

Sentimentality indicates I should keep the Omega and buy the OP. However, I feel like I would always dream about the Sub...

What would you guys do?
Buy the Submariner, and keep the Omega for now. See how that goes, and then decide later if you'll replace the Omega with something to complement your Rolex.
