The WG sub pic someone else posted is the ceramic model As far as I'm aware and have been informed by two watchmakers the ceramic bezel/insert are different between the Submariner (ceramic) and the YM, apparently the YM uses the same or similar designed bezel as the older Submariner (metal insert) and these may be interchangeable! I looked into sourcing a YM plat bezel insert and having it DLC'd black then fitting it to a 114060 but was reliably informed it cannot be done. |

Love this idea!
Not sure I understand what is required though. Would you need the YM to be older/5 digit model in order for the bezel to fit though? Didn't the 5 digit YM not come in blue dial form though? What blue bezel are you thinking of using? The one from a TT or YG 5 digit Sub? |

Here's my modded YM. No date crystal from a 39mm explorer, brushed case and bracelet to fit a sub finish and glidelock.

I'm torn. I like the look, only if you keep, the red second hand. But I still prefer the YM the way it comes from the factory. It's one of my favorite watches.

You can't just "take the cyclops off". New YM's have AR under the cyclops, so you have to replace the crystal. 👍🏻 |

Buy a WG sub. This is like a fake version.

If you can pull it off, it would really look great. I agree with the others about keeping the red second hand.

Well I went by an AD and compared the dials of the YM and the TT SubC (116613LB) and there's no contest. I'm not really a yellow gold guy but I may have to make an exception for that one someday.

Did you do it? I’m so curious to see how it came out! I’m thinking of doing the same except I want to keep the red second hand.

Would it not be easier to just get the sub you want and install the YM dial on that?

Go against what others say, I like the WG seconds hand VS the red. Reminds me of the classic 1680.

As everyone else, would look good but leave the red seconds hand.

VERY interesting! I have a blue YM and I am thinking about flipping it because of the dull current bezel. If a blue sub bezel REALLY REALLY is a simple swap, I just might try this... :)

I love it a lot. I hope you do it so you can post pics here. Also if you do it I think you deserve to name it. Yachty Smurf is my entry.
