Rolex was stolen please help!!
Hi all,
I am new here and unfortunately I have to begin my first thread by saying my submariner 116613LB has been stolen. I have already reported it to the Police and I will be filing an insurance claim on it as well. I am heart broken and sick to my stomach. If anyone has been in this situation and can give me some advice as to what more I can do to get the watch back, please let me know. I am located in Chicago and I am offering a reward to the person who returns it to me!$!$! Thank you Last edited by randomusername; 11 July 2018 at 01:29 AM.. Reason: not complete |

not an expert on retrieving stolen rolexes but id say to post the serial number so it will pop up on any online searches and report to rolex as well so they have it in their database

Get in touch with Rolex Service Centers and give them the serial number. If it shows up there for service you'll get it back. Good for you having insurance... that's the best way to replace it.

Contact every pawn shop/ jeweller in your area with details of your watch including serial number in case somebody brings it in.
Hope you get it back.

As others have said, get the serial number up (at least on here if not elsewhere too) and get in touch with Rolex Service Center to report the theft. It may be futile, and I don't know if the local police already do this, but you can try to contact pawn shops as well to give a heads up or see if they've received anything? Best of luck

It is kind of an embarrassing story and I may post more details later as I talk more with the police. It's still very fresh, it was stolen on 07/08/2018. I would say though be careful out there sometimes things are not what they seem.

We don't know what you look like or your personal details besides that the watch was stolen. There's no logical reason to be embarrassed in a relatively anonymous environment on the Internet, Mr. or Ms. Randomusername.

Hate to be a naysayer but you most likely will never see that watch again, oh there's a slim chance you'll get lucky and it will be recovered. File an insurance claim, pay the deductible and any difference and get a new watch.

Watch theft seems to be a common occurrence. We get posts like this fairly regularly on here. It'll be wise to add a sticky to the forum with steps Rolex/Tudor owners can take should they lose their watch.

One thing to note is once reported stolen to Rolex I assume if the potential buyer ever tries to get it serviced at an RSC it would flag up as stolen??

Check on craigslist just in case they are trying to sell it.

sorry, that sucks.
If you filled an insurance claim though its not your watch anymore. If its found it belongs to the insurance company if they paid you for it. Dont waste your time or energy trying to recover their watch.

If this is the level of info you shared with law enforcement, I’d say it’s a good time to visit the classifieds and move on.
