The under recognized reality-116610LN will appreciate in value and charm!
The grass is always greener...
People want what they can’t have... 10 years of production... Every steel sports Rolex is collectible... Those chunky lugs, dare I say one day they will be...Rare! Those chunky lugs will one day be sought after and unique and have a history... Unloved while in production... Beloved when discontinued... This is the way Rolex works. Keep those 116610LN and Super Case Maxi Dial Variants. Enjoy! |

I tend to agree with all. If they were as ugly as people would have you believe they wouldn’t be unobtainable.

Definitely, it's a must have. Gray market has some good deals for what is The Submariner.

I respect the opinions of those who think the super case lugs are too big. I own a 116610LN and the super case is one of the many reasons I love it. For me, it gives the case an extra "oomph" of presence, while keeping it at the classic 40mm size. I didn't buy a SubDate because I wanted it to look "elegant", which is often a term used to describe the lugs of the 5-digit references. GMT's look more at home with "elegant" and "refined" slimmer lugs, but I like my Sub robust.

Whelp, I’m selling mine anyway...the new house down payment isn’t going to materialize out of nowhere. The timing is coincidental with the new release but as long as prices/demand don’t take a complete dive, it’s fine.

10 years of productions love it or hate Rolex sells everything that they have made I don't disagree. it will hold value and go up slowly but i don't think its going to be sought after for its case design. it'll just steadily go up in value because its a rolex but nothin special |

These posts are always odd. I guess it's easy to fall into a trap if you take forums too seriously.
The watch is incredibly popular and has been sold in its millions (?) Over the decade. There is no under valued bs. Just some may not like it's appearance. Which is fine! Perhaps I do not like the shape as much as other watches. But that doesn't represent their addressable market. Just some opinionated forum members. |

Who knows what the future holds, perhaps in 30-40 years when most of current collectors will not be alive, new generations would not care about these things. Mechanical watch industry had many crisis in the past 40 years .. You cannot base anything on the current situation .. |

Indeed. Rolex might be considered second rate in 20 years time. Nobody is to know. This is why it’s so important to buy a watch that you love and to ignore the “investment” side of things. There’s way too many people treating watches like stocks these days. It’s very sad |

The Super-case became "a thing". I'm sure lots of people genuinely disliked it- and more power to those people- but it felt like it also became the thing you say to show that you are a "real" Rolex guy along with "I prefer aluminium bezels because they get knackered" or "Ceramic has no soul".
It didn't hurt that lots of people got to prefer the watch that they had over the watch they had no chance of buying. One day there will be people here hating on "bloated 41mm hockey pucks" and saying how the last 40mm Sub is the last true Sub. It is inevitable. |

Buy what you like and wear it in good health.
Other things dont matter. No supercases nor ceramic for me. I am a stubborn ox. |
