Submariner reference book
Hey guys
Can I get you guys to give me some input on a good reference book for the submariner. I want to start getting some vintage subs but I want to study up on them first considering there are so many fakes out there now. I know there are a few books out there that are $800 and up but I just want to get a good starter reference guide on serial numbers and markers just to get me started. I would appreciate all the help and you guys pointing me in the right direction. Thanks again |

Mondani....
Expensive but the most comprehensive you'll find IMO. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rolex-Submari...item416dfab7b7

Vintage Rolex Sports Models, A Complete Visual Reference & Unauthorized History: by Martin Skeet-Nick Urul, is also a nice Reference and contains other models as well. If you are on a budget, this could be a good start..

Agree with Rob about the authoritative source book. But I would say the price is less than 1 mistake you could make buying a bad vintage Sub. So it really pays for itself if you're going to dabble in them with your money.

Thanks guys for the two recommendations. I am going to start with the less expensive book to get a basic idea about the vintage subs and once I get that foundation, I will move on to the $800 one.
I appreciate you guys helping me out |

bought all the cheaper books, they are decent books, but really nothing compared to the mondani ones.

Just about all of the info in those books can be found on this forum...for free. Paying $800 for a book is a little bit beyond me unless you're into vintage books

I know most of the info is in here but sometimes it is easier to have it all in front of you in one place when looking at vintage subs to make sure you are making the right decision. You only need a book like this if you are really going to be buying some vintage subs like I am

This site is really nice for Rolex enthusiasts its one of my favorites, and this link will show you some nice options in different price ranges along with reviews of the books. It seems like the Mondani book is really large and has beautiful large pictures as well.
