Congratulations! Great looking watch and a great value. Omega hit a home run with this watch with the possible exception of the HE valve, which I can live with and is, after all, part of this watch's history.

I've got a grey dial waiting for me when I get back.
This watch really has me wondering and questioning the price of other luxury watches because of quality and spec of it. I know it's not all about objective measures but how much of the money you pay is for the brand rather than the product? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

a good chunk of the price of a rolex is undoubtedly these costs but it is money well spent for rolex as no doubt those who want a "status symbol" will be encouraged by the advertising now omega spend a fair bit but I did read somewhere that rolex annual spend is more than twice that of omega

I guess so. I'm not saying it's wrong, we associate with brands in all aspects of our lives and identify with different brands for different things. But looking at my APRO and my LV which are on two different levels in most people's opinion then looking at the Seamaster, branding aside I'm struggling to see or justify £12200 or £3350 of difference. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, it's just the Seamaster has put things in a different light for me.
At the same time it makes Omega's other offerings look a bit over priced. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

Congratulations. A great looking watch with a lot of history. I tried it on at a local AD but they only had it on the rubber strap and I found it to be inadequate for the watch. I am waiting to see the watch on the bracelet and will probably add this watch to my short list once they start turning up pre-owned for 50% off retail.

Under certain lighting, the blue dial "converts" to silver. No camera tricks required!

I think Ben is quite fond of his new watch - but he is right to be - I have had mine a month now and still am amazed by the "amount" of watch on offer for the money
it hasnt made me question my 16710 coke in the collection but it has made the VC look a bit expensive I suspect that Omega may well have damaged Planet Ocean sales with this model as several reviews have said there doesn't seem a lot of point in spending twice as much for a watch that is so much bigger unless you are a very serious diver or really want a 46 mm watch I bought another watch this year which gives an equally huge value for money - Black Bay GMT I think this Tudor and the new SMP 300m really do make you wonder about watches at 2 and 3 times the price as if the dearer watches are "better" than these 2 it really isn't by vey much at all - if at all they aren't good watches for the money - they are just good watches period.

The rubber strap with the buckle is £220?? That's kinda too much. That's in the same league as Patek Aquanaut rubber straps and Rolex Oysterflex straps. I saw this new Seamaster with the rubber strap. And the quality of the strap was not really good. And it didn't even have the deployant clasp, but only a cheap prong buckle. |

Happy to report that after 48 hours, the watch only gain 1.5 secs, so within the METAS Specs.

Let's hope Rubber B steps in and shows Omega how it's done.

Awesome pick up! Your pictures make me even more anxious for the arrival of mine. I went with the blue dial to add color to my 114060 and BLNR

Congrats! I finally saw the blue dial in the flesh at the OB in Berlin during a recent business trip. Unfortunately, it was on a rubber strap, which didn't really move me. Yet, I was intrigued. Then, yesterday, I had the opportunity see it on a bracelet at my local AD. My response: "Let's size the bracelet. I'm taking her home."

Congratulations!
Great pictures because they absolutely do justice to the mesmerizing blue dial/bezel variations (2 weeks into it for me with the blue dial as well). The bracelet is a big improvement for Omega. In short, you're just getting a lot of watch. Box is truly beautiful as well though I'd prefer it with a smaller footprint. |
