Newbie needing advise
Hi all.
The time has finally arrived where I’m in a position to invest in a nice Rolex timepiece. I really like the James Cameron Deapsea D-Sub and also the sea dweller! I’ve also seen a very nice panda face Daytona from 2018, virtually new but without stickers. My question is, from an enjoyment and also an appreciating investment point of view, which would you choose??? Thanks |

Only you can answer the enjoyment question, but IMHO never buy a watch purely as an investment. Buy it because you like it.

Investment is never a reason to buy a watch. Buy what you like and you will never regret it. I will however indulge your question. The Rolex Daytona has the strongest market out of all of them. All are fantastic timepieces though. The decision breaks down to what you like and personal needs or preference. Budget is consideration as well. I would ask myself the following questions. Wrist size? A small wrist will have a hard time pulling off a Deapsea. Do you need a date? If you do, the Daytona is out. Do you like the Cyclops? if you don't the Seadweller 43 is out and you can only consider the Seadweller 40 and Deepsea and Daytona. Try them on and see what's comfortable and how they feel on the wrist. There is no replacement for trying the on. Especially if this is your first Rolex and maybe your only Rolex you will want to make sure you pick what you love and what suits you.

As long as you dont pay premium you wont loose money and otherwise little money would be lost. As a Investment i wont buy but it hold its value quite good.

There are better uses for your money if you are looking for an investment. Sure, the whims of the Rolex markets over the years have provided some great dividends, but if you aren't buying a watch because of the joy it brings you looking at it each time it's on your wrist, get a Timex and go talk to an investment counselor.
BUY WHAT YOU LOVE AND THE VALUE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN!
