Ploprof Steel vs Titanium

So I am looking into adding a Ploprof to the collection and was hoping for some opinions on material choice.

Titanium is obviously lighter, more expensive, doesn't have the date complication, and has a sapphire case-back(not worried about the sapphire itself as I am the slickness of flat glass vs ribbed steel case back when wet)

Does the fact that it is lighter make it so that the slippery flat glass case back is not an issue?

Titanium all the way for me.

I've always considered it the more extreme metal for more extreme deep sea divers.

Have you ever tried a titanium watch on? It's super light, and to me, not the right feeling for a sports watch.

I have the Seamaster 300 in Ti; Sometimes kind of nice to wear a watch that disappears on the wrist. That being said, I doubt that that would happen with the Ploprof Ti as it is quite large haha

Not a fan of Titanium in watches. Too light and grey for me.

The grade 5 titanium used by omega is now my favorite watch metal. It looks like steel and is even more scratch resistant. If you’re used to big heavy steel watches and you like them, then by all means go for the steel. Most people imo are going to prefer the titanium over time on bigger pieces.

Titanium, without hesitation. The ss one is too heavy, especially on the bracelet.

This is the exact reason why I’ve never been able to pull the trigger over the past few years. It’s getting more expensive now too which doesn’t help.

Love these but have never tried one on. For me though I think I'd like the extra heft of SS.

Here are the approximate weights with bracelets...
SS: 279 Grams
Ti: 175 Grams

Tried them both on, and just loved the heft of the SS. Plus the date is useful and the bracelet is perfect; in looks, width, solid and secure clasp

The titanium is really nice as well with some interesting colour choices, but the SS black dial is that bit closer to the original.

Does the black actually look like that in person? For some reason I see this dark navy hue in pictures I wonder if that comes through in real life.

I really wish they would do that navy blue on their TT without the gold.. or do the original color way of navy dial with black bezel.

It sure does, it's one of the reasons I like it so much - black just has that timeless classic look

Also love the original model blue, but I just can't look past the plastic pusher

Once you see and feel the titanium and the SS, you'll quickly get a feel for what you like. The new model colours just all pop, liked the white dial and blue bezel but kept coming back to black, date and weight of the SS

Has to be the SS, the heft is part of the character of the Ploprof.

I fell in love with the blue and gold combination - titanium is a bonus and happy that the latest incarnation doesn’t have the date - all personal choice.
