Daniel Craig. That watch is a bit loose. A little loose is elegant; that loose is asking for trouble.

Well, I'll go out on a limb. I see he's in Asia, and I'll bet a dollar to a donut that the watch was given to him, probably by a Rolex rep, just before this photo session took place. Now I admit I spend too much time on these watch forums, but it's beginning to appear as though there is a scheme afoot to undermine the Omega-Bond connection.

Craig is the perfect medium for this little coup as well. Obviously a Rolex man, the best Bond in years...Rolex is getting an awful lot of free advertising mileage out of this guy and don't think the brass at Rolex haven't noticed. Same goes for the guys at Omega I would think.

I wonder at what point he'll get his wings clipped?

Your wishes may come true JJ not sure if he would wear that or go back to a sub but rumour is Omegas contract is up 2009/10 so it will be down to who is prepaired to throw the most money at the producers

Craig can wear whatever he likes. I think he's a Rolex collector because I've seen him sport vintage SUBS. Give him credit for having some taste. The Bond character is an Omega man but Craig is whatever he feels like wearing.

may be that explains why its so loose on his wrist..its not exactly his own watch but was given to him as you said.

Wasn't it already through the roof???? You need to sell an organ to get a GV in th UK.

Can't personally see Rolex going back to Bond...not as if they need him.

It's done wonders for Omega though!!!!!!!!!!!

does 'marketing'. For one, ROLEX doesn't place their products in movies 'for money' where OMEGS does place them for it...
Eg: Robert Redford wore a SUB in 'The Candidate,' he also did a scene where he sat behind a 3 foot tall logo'd 'ROLEX' desk ~ ROLEX did not collect nor endorse this for one red cent...

Thanks,
Randy

That was my line of thinking. I've seen him wear other watches, and he doesn't wear them all loose like that. I know some people do, but it's not really practical for an *action* man, or even for someone who want to glance at their wrist to read the time.

I have to admit the watch does look very loose on his wrist, especially in the photograph where he is signing autographs.

I'm surprised that it appears Quantum of Solace isn't released in Japan until 24 Jan 09

The GV rules...I assume that Omega didn't sign-up 007 with a marketing contract, so he can basically wear whatever he likes.

I don't expect to see this happen again if a watch company signs the rights to a movie, especially where the lead figure is so well known as is the case with James Bond. Omega needs to get their lawyers to draw better contracts.

Maybe Craig is wearing Rolex to spite Omega, who have a contract using the James Bond character as an ambassador. He's not getting one cent I would imagine. Or maybe after wearing Omegas in the films he's decided he needs a better watch himself. (ducking and running)
