Found The One...time to flip or flop

What expensive mistakes have you made; trying to buy your next watch?

Learning a hard lesson myself... I had thought for 1.5 years I wanted a Dj41 jubilee, blue dial (the whole package)

Huntsville AD Finally called me after months of waiting and I purchased it...

All to realize that I don’t love it. It did not settle the itch. As crazy as it sounds I wanted the EXACT opposite!

It absolutely delights me to wear this one.
(Rhodium Dial, Smooth Bezel, Oyster)

I Was able to pick it up on TRF from Radcliffe Jewelers in MD (pre owned) w/some stickers full kit. Exceeded expectations. Love it!

So now I really don’t see myself wearing the jubilee and need to sell it, hopefully I don’t lose to bad. Too expensive to keep both.

The Dark Rhodium ROCKS!! PCL’s are sharp too!

There are no mistakes with watches, only learning. 1.5 years is a long time to try and love a watch. Move the watch to someone who loves it and move on to the next one for you.

Shouldn’t be too much of an expensive mistake I’m sure you can offload for a decent price, out of interest did you try one on before you put your order in or order from pictures as I am a believer you need to see/try on before buying to make sure it floats your boat.

Nice one. It will compliment that beautiful Sky Dweller very nicely.

The blue DJ on Jubilee is, AFAIK one of the most popular combinations. It should move fast.

You are not alone. I did the same with a White faced non ceramic Daytona. Thought that was my grail. Bought it. Wore it a few times and just didn’t like it at all. Thank goodness I bought it used and sold it. Didn’t lose much. Funny thing is had I just stored it in the safe then are selling for $5k more now. Oh well no regrets here. I don’t treat watches as investments. I buy what I want, wear what I want and sometimes sell when I don’t want any longer.

Enjoy the new watch and who cares what you sell the old one for. You are happy. If it was a car you would expect to lose money on the sale. Think of it as a car and not an investment.

Congratulations on the Rhodium DJ!!! I love the Rhodium dial on my YM and the Slate dial on my Slatetona. They are sublime and subtle. I always found the blue dial DJs to be a bit too obvious as they are too eye catching. I hope you love yours as much as I do mine!!!

Rhodium dial is so good! I picked it up on the Jubilee with the fluted bezel and love it.

(ii) THE OFFERING OF (OR INFERENCE TO) ANY WATCH OR ARTICLE FOR SALE IN ANY POST, SIGNATURE OR OTHERWISE OUTSIDE THE FOR SALE OR TRADE SECTION. ADMIN RESERVES THE RIGHT TO IMMEDIATELY REMOVE SUCH OFFERINGS AND WILL ISSUE A WARNING ACCOMPANIED BY INFRACTION POINTS.

Be careful of discussing watches to be sold with pictures, which should be in the for sale section.

I thought about that- I’m probably going to keep it but it’s fun learning and figuring out which watches you truly love or just think you love.

Hopefully my post relays More of a question or my experience on the process. My purpose was Not listing or solicit

But thank you for reminder.

I agree with you 100%

It’s way to flashy and stands out more than I realized.

Rhodium beats it every time!

Thank You- totally agree and that was along my thought process.

I just thought I needed variety with bracelets but turns out I’m an Oyster Guy!

I love this. I've learned and lot and paid a lot to learn it.

They are so different and quite special, keeping both makes for a lot of variety.

I did the opposite. I made the mistake of getting white. Then went for black, but is was almost gray sometimes and dull to me. I wanted the really popular blue with sticks. It is a more navy blue than the one with Romans. I really loved it in pictures. Got it and love it, timeless. Sometime it looks black, silver, gray, then blue. I get more complements on this watch that any I have ever owned. Congrats on your purchase glad you got what you want!

Nice pick-up, congrats! Definitely prefer the rhodium-dial version over the roman numerals dial.

One of the great things about Rolexes is that you don't get killed on the secondary market if you decide to flip.

Funny, I did the exact opposite. I bought the DJ41 with the blue dial, smooth bezel and the oyster bracelet. Traded it in for one with a jubilee because I liked the look of it so much better. Cost me about $1k, but it was still cheaper than replacing the bracelet...

The Rhodium dial is awesome, but went fluted and jubilee; love the way it sparkles.
