Day Date 1803 w/ Sapphire Crystal?
Hi Guys:
I am in the market for an 1803 DD and have one in mind but it has a sapphire crystal. My understanding is that the 1803 was in the days of acrylic crystals but the sapphire change came around the time of the end of their run. Did they also produce 1803's with sapphire or were they all made with acrylic? Thanks in advance! Any thoughts on an 1803 with sapphire?

Thanks for the info. The seller assures me that it is an 1803 and not an 18038. I would obviously check before purchase but with the info you just gave to me is it possible that an 1803 could have been later fitted with a sapphire crystal knowing now that as you say it was not originally fitted with one?

May be easier to date using the serial number, that way you can cross reference with model/year.

Thanks guys for having me post the pics. Now that I see them, it looks like acrylic to me and I believe it's the seller's description that is incorrect. Pic attached.
