Is There a Particular Watch?

Is there a particular watch you always go back to? I've added watches, flipped watches, coveted watches, but I always come back to the Explorer 2. Anyone else have a watch that even in a big collection gets an outsized amount of wrist time?

116718LN. While it doesn’t get a lot of wrist time due to my collection, I invariably come back to it frequently.

Never explain. Never apologise. Never go back.

That's what I said in my Bond audition... fingers crossed...

It does not happen to me with a reference in particular but with the Rolex brand, after having collected dozens of watches of different brands, I always miss using a Rolex and in the end I realized that it is the only brand that fills me up no matter what others are more expensive.

Well, I eventually get around to all the ones that are functioning.

So, it's not really one particular watch.

Hard to pin down within Rolex, but within my collection I frequently come back to Rolex more than any other brand.

I completely get that. I want to diversify my collection, but I find it hard to not wear a Rolex now that I'm used to it.

I sure love my new (to me) BLNR, and I believe it will be my main watch from here on.

Explorer I

I need a Date function, so I wear a Datejust. Sometimes I get caught up in a Pepsi or Subbie frenzy, and toy with the idea of getting one.

But I always come back to the Explorer I - which I have yet to own!

Exactly! My union with the brand, shape, concept of Rolex watches is very strong. Other brands are wonderful and can even make better watches but I am a Rolex fan.

DSSD Blue! Had it, sold it, had it again and then sold it another time. Now I've started thinking of this watch again. Damn it!

For me it was always my 16600 ...No matter what I've owned, and I've had some beautiful vintage pieces over the years, this seems to be the watch I wore far and away more then any other...

I loved the extra heft, the fact that is was not as common as many other references and it had a date window but no cyclops...!!!

After selling off my entire collection, I was going to go back and get a 16600...That is until I tried the DeepSea...

A Rolex dive watch. Submariner, DSSD and currently SD43. Something about the fit and look. If I could only have one watch it would be a Rolex diver.

My LVC is my go to. It definitely gets the most wrist time as it is perfect for all occasions.

This is an intriguing question. Considering the audience, the answers should be extremely valuable insight into which watches really satisfy.

My D-Blue. I wear others for special occasions and nights out but I go to the D-Blue without a second guess and it seems to be even more so over time.

Thanks Tony! It definitely takes some time early on figuring out what you like and dislike, flipping, adding to your collection. Sometimes you love one, get it, then quickly fall out of love. That's been my experience with the Explorer. After having it a few times I think I always come back to it being just a little too small for me.

The Explorer 2 has really become the one I can't live without. I can't see ever flipping it. Interestingly it was the first Rolex I ever loved, so it stands to reason I still love it.

Yes!

But it's not a Rolex. It's not an automatic, it's not Swiss, and it was under $200. Still, it's a great watch, and I really like the hell out of it.
