Aqua Terra on Rubber Strap - Durability / Scratches?

I've been eyeing the newer AT with the date window at 6. I think it looks really sharp on the rubber.

My two main concerns are: (1) the durability of the rubber strap and (2) the chance that the bezel is a scratch magnet.

Do any of you have any experience with this watch? I'd appreciate any input you might have. Does the stitching hold up with wear and tear (I am fairly rough on my watches)? How does the bezel hold up?

Thanks!

Ronnie

The new rubber straps are great. The polished bezel will be a scratch magnet.

All watches are scratch magnets. Just watch door handles, zips in pockets, letter boxes, etc. etc.

I have my aqua terra for approx 8 yrs and I wear it 80% of the time. Yes, the bezel is a scratch magnet but after awhile you dont really notice the scratches anymore. I think aqua terra bezel is slimmer than dj36 so I find it less a scratch magnet than the dj36.

About a year ago, i bought the rubber strap and have been wearing them non stop. The omega rubber quality is really superb. No fraying on the white stitches whatsoever. I took my watch everywhere, from dog park, gardening to the beach. So far still looks good. Looks better on naked eyes than on the actual photo. Good luck on deciding.

Cool watch! Question: did you perform the installation of the strap? If so, then did it snap right on with no adjustments or trouble? I love these rubber straps, and I'm thinking of one for my Aqua Terra in the case that's similar to yours, only in the 41.5mm size. I'll be grateful for your thoughts. Thank you.

No, i didnt do it myself. Ive read the spring bar is slightly different than the orginal one. It has a slight curve to it. I ordered the rubber straps plus the end links through my local Omega boutique and the inhouse watch maker installed it for me. I spoke directly with the technician and he confirmed that he made a slight adjustment to the spring bars and assured me that they were fitted properly. Hope that helps.
