Strange numbering on vintage Speedy case
Hey there -
I just purchased a 1989 Speedmaster 145.022 from Bob's Watches and after a few days, noticed that the left side of the case is numbered 0239/2000. I am not aware of this watch being of any kind of limited edition, the box and papers it came with do not reflect any numbered edition of the watch, and I am pretty confused. Any thoughts or help? Is it possible that Bob's swapped out the case on the watch? I've (attempted to) attached a photo here and you can see the original Bob's listing below (it says sold out but you can still see all the pics and description: https://www.bobswatches.com/omega/pr...-st145022.html |

That is one from the limited series for the 20th anniversary of the moon landing. had #1690 of the Euro series, this seems to be from the US series.

Thank you GeorgeK - that was my original thought as well but the engraving doesn't seem to match what I've seen with other models for the 20th anniversary. It is smaller, lighter, and does not include "Apollo XI 1969" like the one in this picture: https://omegaforums.net/data/attachm...de9ff3a9a1.jpg

That's a 20th anniversary Apollo model, I own one as well. Should have a long S and R on the dial where it says Speedmaster. Very collectable I believe.

Thanks all for the help. I was able to find an article on Fratello that lists the US versions of the 20th anniversary having some variation in the format of the engraving so this would seem to be legit. Thanks!
