Planet Ocean discount

I really like the new model Planet Ocean (215.30.44.21.03.001). I have noticed there seem to be quite a few brand new, unworn priced well below retail on Chrono24. (See link below). This leads me to believe dealers must be getting hold of them with a considerable discount.

https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/sea...id11551028.htm

I would rather buy from a brick and mortar store where I can see the watch and pick it up in person rather than online.

Therefore, my question is what kind of discounts are people able to get on these from AD's?

I am based in the UK.

Thanks

As with any sale you buy the seller and the watch purchase should be good if the seller is reputable ... I personally don’t deal with sellers outside the USA but that’s me

I am not intending to buy online, I was just showing that brand new watches are going for that price so wondered what sort of discount you can get from AD's.

I am based in the UK and would only buy from UK sellers

Unsolicited I got offered a 15% discount. I wasn’t ready to make the purchase so I had to walk. I think other posters have said 20%?

My AD never bats an eyelid at 15%. If it goes to 20% they have to ring up the area boss so I usually try not to make them do that.

15/ 20% seems to be the norm
Colleague I work with got 20% of an omega seamaster about 4 months ago. Not positive but think it was at EJ in silverburn & he bought some jewellery at same time for his wife

Thanks for all the responses guys.

That seems decent. Would bring the price down from £5,220 to £4,176 assuming I could get 20% discount.

A little bit more than sellers on Chrono24 but would be worth it for the peace of mind.

I don't understand the fear of online purchasing. Try it on at the AD, make sure you like it then go hunting. Just about every online platform protects the buyer more than the seller. I have this exact model (2019 still stickered & complete) inbound for under 50% of retail and no tax.

My Goodplanet GMT goes back and forth with my Expl II as my favorite watch. I got mine at DavidSW. It came with the metal band but the day it arrived I brought it to my local Omega AD and surprisingly they had the rubber strap in stock.
It has been on the Rubber since. Absolutely love it.

This is how I have purchased my last 3 watches. However, I make sure to buy from a well-known trusted seller or business.

Well done. Hell, I'll take a chance on anyone as long as they'll invoice me through PP. Use their LOC 6 mos same as cash. Even if an empty box shows up, They'll refund you immediately.

Most importantly, KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT. Ask for pics. The very best fakes have easy to spot flaws that cannot be hidden with an exhibition case back. Buy a $100 timegrapher. All three handed and GMTs 8XXX movements beat at 25.2k. ALL fakes will beat at 28.8 no matter how good they look.

I have just had a few bad experiences when buying expensive things (not watches) so like the idea of not knowing I am not going to have any hassle or worries. I really don't want to end up buying a fake.

Having said that I tried on a the PO and a SM 300 today at a WOS store and was offered 5% off which I managed to get up to 7%. Some way off the prices you can get online.

I know you're in Scotland and I apologize for my American ignorance. I believe the watch retails for 5900 EUR?? I know it's $6550 US. I've got $3000 into this one complete (from a legit large dealer).

I hate seeing people pay AD prices on Planet Oceans. Awesome watches that are easily had on the cheap with some hunting skills.

The PO retails for £5,220 ($6940), so with 7% discount was coming in around £4,800 ($6380)

Cheapest I can find for brand new was as posted in my initial post at around £3,500 ($4,650)

Prices must be higher there than in the US, unless you're inducing some sort of tax.

£3500 is a good price for that watch
That seller looks to have a London based store also

That price/ link would be a good starting point for a conversation with a Scottish AD if you wanted to buy locally

I bought a Cartier for my partners 50th in sept. Refused discount until I showed the online prices & put my card on table to say would buy then/ there for right price. All of a sudden - a discount was offered. Not as good as on line but I got to walk out with watch in my hand plus had the option of a resize etc when she came to try on.

Tax is already included in the UK so that is the final price you would pay

Yeah just had a look they have a pretty legit looking website as well. Like you, I would prefer to buy local if the price was right. May be an idea just to show them what’s out there BNIB from grey sellers.

PO for around £3,500 and SMP for around £3,000

Did you buy one? Did you get discount?

To the OP, I know you're not too enthused to buy online, but I'd highly recommend Millenary. They're in Sweden. I've done business with them - in fact just bought a new 2020 SMP 300m black wave at a considerable discount (>20%). Best of luck!

20-30% should be easily doable from an AD.

If you don't mind me asking: Did you pay any duty/custom fees? If so, what was the percentage of the price?

Thanks!
