Planet Ocean liquidmetal titanium

Saw this the other day and quite liked it. I've never owned an Omega and wanted to know what you guys thought of this watch - what's the word on the street, so to speak.

Pic isn't mine, I sourced it online.

Cheers!

It's a beast. If you like large heavy watches, you won't find better.

Actually....it's not a beast....in the sense that its very light.

Big watch...but it's really fun to try it on as your brain tries to register how it's so light!

If they made it with black or orange bezel I would have one.

You'd be surprised by how light this model is. Have you tried it on?

Yes. And I'm familiar with titanium watches. I have an Omega Solar Impulse.

This is a nice watch but too light for my taste buy this only if you are fond of light watches, the blue color looks good though. According to my AD the people who have bought these watches don't like it after some time due to it being too light

Tried it on at a boutique in Boca.

It's is sooooooo light, it does not feel real.

Looks fine, but it was far too light for me to take seriously--so to speak.

Interesting responses so far. I kinda liked the lightness of it - was pretty comfortable to wear.

Hi there.

I have had quite a few watches in the last years...this one is in my current line up.
Like all watches its a matter of personal taste and to me it sings... I love it big time. The look and the feeling. Really dont follow that weight thing.

Cheers

Peter

It's a beautiful watch and I used to think the 8500 and 9300 weighed a bit much for my liking the Titanium versions really helped alleviate that issue. I personally like a little more complication on my dial and would choose the 9300 version.

It weighs 146 grams, the Rolex Sub-C in stainless weighs 151 grams and the outgoing Submariner 16610 weighs 135 grams.

It feels real light compared to the stainless version at over 200 grams, but at 146 grams, its about equal to a Sub-C and more than almost every other stainless Rolex in the range.

Oh and for the record, freaking badass watch. The LiquidMetal's bezel is brilliant, the dial is superb, the level of finishing on the watch, the caseback, and the sublime Cal 8500 movement all make this one of the best divers on the market, easily outclassing the Sub-C in every aspect. Definitely worth buying.

the titanium blue 8500/9300 combo is hard to beat. I agree that it very well may the best dive watch on the market.........next to the DEEPSEA. In my opinion the subs today dont even match the SS 42mm PO 8500 series especially when you factor in the $

This is the enthusiasm I was expecting to see about this watch - especially on this forum. I'm not an Omega owner and thought this was a freakin badass watch too.

Cheers!

If they come out with an all black version next year I will be getting one for sure...unless my tastes change in that amount of time :) Or they don't release one.

Very light but the standard Planet Ocean (either the current cal 8500 or the previous caliber 2500) has a much more classy, classic and refined look. The blue doesn't do it for me. The original Liquid Metal LE in 42MM was a stunner. Try to get one of those instead. There isn't much interest in titanium watches and the blue........well,as I said before, not a fan of the shade Omega chose.

Regardless, get what you like!!!!! Good luck......

Does anymore have a better idea of when Omega will announce their new watch lineup for 2013? I really hope they make this watch in black. It would be perfect!

I have the PO Chrono in SS and a Sub-C and I love the two different looks, but the PO in SS is much heavier than I initially thought. Consistent with other's comments, I am hoping for a LiquidMetal in Black bezel and dial. I think I'd sell the heavier SS Chrono for a regular PO in LM. Any buyers for a 6 day old PO Crono?
