Garden update!

Greetings TRF,

Today wasn't the most productive day in the garden but nonetheless I've been able to clean out another corner of my backyard! This one was completely invaded by weeds so we had to do something!

(Again, please enjoy some music while looking at my pictures! What about some joyful yet somewhat psychedelic Rolling Stones? )

Here's what it looked like when we started...

I had quite a rough beginning as someone didn't want me to get to my tools...

Still, after negociating hard with her (she's still alive, don't worry, I just moved around...it seems like she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed! ), I got my good ol' gardening weapons and started the massacre!

Here's what it looked like when I finished (N.B.: Those of you who wanted to see my face, you can at least admire my shadow...still better than nothing! )!

Those plants have been there for a year or two already but we decided to buy another one, a cimicifuga racemosa, because we want to fill the corner and this particular one is supposed to grow up to six feet.

And I took two little plants from the very big lily you see in the pictures to move them a little bit, we're hoping they will grow too and fill the back of that corner.

And here's a bonus! After a couple of weeks of Sun and rain my (dare I really say it's mine? ) kitchen garden looks like this now (don't mind the small weeds and fallen leaves, I need to clean it again...)!

I don't have any tomatoes yet but the plants grew quite a lot, I'm hoping to see them popping out soon!

And now, as always, a couple of close-ups!

The lavender looks quite good now!

Thank you for watching, feel free to comment!

Hey you've got quite the green thumb. I'm still working at chopping everything down at my
place (remember the 'bonsai'?).

Very nice, Carl.

Thank you so much gentlemen, I appreciate it!

Craig, I do remember that bonsai of yours, are you still trying to make it look like one of Peter's?

By the way, I almost forgot a last picture! While bombing the weeds (which actually means passing the weed eater...) a rock (or probably something rather hard and perhaps a bit sharp) hit me on my (very hairy) leg. As you can see, gardening can be very dangerous...

Yes, I know, this picture is not really safe for work but I know girls love tough men who take risks. Ladies, if you are reading this, I barely cried when that thing got me!

Now get in line and compliment me on my manliness!

Thank you Lisa, I do find the results great given my work (although it isn't hard)!

As for the cut, it's getting better now! I just hope it will make a big scar like those we see on bad guys in movies and stuff, that would be soooooooo cool!

By the way guys, I think I was wrong when I told you my plants didn't make fruits yet. Please take a look at what my mother found this afternoon!

Now those will make some excellent peppers for a salsa or perhaps a spaghetti sauce! I can't wait to taste them! The funny thing is that my mother called me and told me "you have to take a picture of those and post them on that forum of yours", you'll have to thank her for that!

And while taking pictures of them, I found...this!

I know, it isn't quite ready yet but I was quite happy to find it!

Congrats, Carl. I unfortunately have too slow a connection to be able to download the photos properly but did catch glimpses, and everything looks great. And hooray for the pepper--did you mention the variety?

Thank you J! Too bad you couldn't see all the pictures but I'm glad to have your good words!

I believe the peppers are just regular chili peppers (I'll assume they're just no-names) but they're supposed to come in red, green and yellow (we wanted to add a bit of colour in there).

I appreciate the comment Shannon! I'll gladly eat this tomato in your honor and perhaps I'll add some fresh mozzarella on it as well! Rest assured that I'll give you a little review of that very fruit as soon as I taste it!
